The Tank of Chill Mats!

I've had my HD3 for 8 years and is just now starting to show its age. I've used it heavily over the years staying on 24/7 most of the time. I will be buying a new HD3 very soon to replace it.

I love the design first off. Most pads look like they are designed by a part time DJ and they just look stupid. The only down side to me is performance. I have an Origin custom gaming laptop and after doing some testing, the cpu temp doesn't drop that much when using a high performance laptop. It dropped between the average of 8-10 celsius. Which isn't bad,but not great when you see other alternatives at a lower cost. part of the problem I think is the fan locations end up more towards the back of the laptop and the heat stays by the mouse pad area. Its the only place I feel warmth. If they added two fans to include the lower area, this would without a doubt improve cooling performance.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was eager to try out this chill mat, since my laptop tends to get really warm, almost hot at times, when I use it for a long time, particularly when solely on battery power. I've used it several times in conjunction with the chill mat, and the results are great! My laptop stays cool to the touch, even after extended use. I'm sure that goes a long way in extending its life, too. The chill mat is easy to set up and install. Great product!

Keeps things cool

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got very confused. It came with no directions and no cord to plug into the cool pad/ computer. I had to search forever around my house to find the right kind of cord. I almost gave up. My husband had given me a plug for a massager and insisted it would work. I laughed at him because it had a long metal plug at the end. He finally found the right kind, only because we kept all of our old cell phone cords and it calls for a USB-A. But I have it going right now and it is working great. I would recommend it. Just make sure you have the correct cord for it, USB-A.

It works but makes a sound

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So I got this to switch between gaming and my husbands work laptop. His laptop is very heavy and produces a LOT of heat because he uses a lot of different programs.
I think this chill mat works but only on high. If you use the low fan setting, it makes a whirring sound which doesn't sound good at all. Do I think it works well? Well, I think it would work better without that whirring noise.
On high, it seems to work okay. Fan noise is a little loud but it's unavoidable and it shows me that it's working. But I would suggest never putting it on low as the noise would drive you crazy.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nice Addition

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this for a work laptop and am very pleased. The fan keeps the computer nice and cool (and it isn't so bad to lift it up and get a fan blow myself on hot days)! It also boosts the laptop up a little bit which is nice for typing.

So if you get a chance to purchase one give it a try.
