Keeps the laptop cooler!

The two fans keep the laptop cooler and it runs off the power of the computer via USB cable.
It also serves as a sort of lap desk as needed in a chair, etc. Not sold as such, but a neat secondary use. Makes the typing angle on the laptop much better also. Fans are very quite.

I figured I would give this a try and send it back if not happy. I love it! It works even better than I had hoped it might, keeping my laptop and my lap completely cool. I'm also amazed at how quiet it is. I can barely hear it running even when holding it up near my head. It does have a very slight vibration to it, but it doesn't transfer to the laptop and is the only flaw I can find to point out. I highly recommend this product.

It is worth the extra money. The laptop stays securely placed, and it is cooled noiselessly and without a substantial drain on the battery.

Does not fit the HP Pavilion dv7t-7000 Quad

I bought the Targus Chill Mat Cooling Stand on impulse without checking it out first. I had just spent days checking and reviewing the new laptop I needed and I got lazy; I thought if HP is suggesting it, it should be good. It is ok. The one HP suggested does not really fit the HP Pavilion dv7t-7000 Quad Edition laptop. The feet don’t lineup with the stops. I was able to add sticky back bumpers to the bottom of the laptop to stop it sliding off the stand. The power connecter sticks out a bit far for my liking. Fan is very quiet and seems to work well. I’ve only had it for a couple of week… we’ll see how long it lasts.

Does what is promises: draws power from a USB port to power silent fans that cool your laptop and avoid heat buildup in your lap. One drawback affects mouse users, but not touch-pad-only users: the surface area is too small to accommodate a mouse. I solved the problem by inserting a rigid board between the two decks; it slides out to give me a mouse pad when I need it.

This mat took up to much space in my travel case, I got a more compact one for traveling and use this one at home.
