Keeping It Cool

This unit does exactly what I need it to do, keep my laptop cool. That said I'd prefer it was 110v wired and not USB, only because so many laptops now only have 2 usb's. A port replicator or hub is great but with no on/off switch this unit will just keep running unless unplugged. Its a good product, and works well, especially if you like to have your laptop on your lap in bed, by the tv, etc. I'm a sit at the desk guy so thats where I differ.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Targus Chill Mat Cooling Stand

The chill mat is quiet and seems effective. However, one major distractor is there is NO on/off switch; and so the mat is constantly running when the compuler is on. Sometimes there is a need to have the fan off (i.e. when one is using a speaker phone)

I have not had this for a month yet, and it already does not work. I do not have my information on my order, so I have not tried to send it back yet. But I seriously doubt that I would get another one.

Great product and a must for all laptops

The Chill Mat is light weight and very manageable when moving from my desk to others areas I like to use my laptop. My 17.3" laptop fits nicely on it and the double fans are an added plus to keep the laptop cool. The amazing thing to me is how quite these fans are. I wasn't even sure they were working!
I have wondered why the fans weren't placed closer to the front of the mat. The left side of my laptop does get warmer than the right.
I'm very pleased with the product and glad I made the decision to get the Chill Mat at the same time I made my laptop purchase.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Does what is promises: draws power from a USB port to power silent fans that cool your laptop and avoid heat buildup in your lap. One drawback affects mouse users, but not touch-pad-only users: the surface area is too small to accommodate a mouse. I solved the problem by inserting a rigid board between the two decks; it slides out to give me a mouse pad when I need it.

I like the stand

There were no directions as to which was the top and which was the bottom of the stand. After trying both ways, I used the one that worked the best with the keyboard.

Good Product but not for HP

I like the mat as a stand for my new HP laptop. It does help keep the laptop cooler and the angle is good, making typing much easier. I cannot, however plug in the fan because of HP's desogn of placing the USB ports in front. To plug in the the stand, the cable is in the way of my mouse on the right side and conflicts with my modem cable on the left side. So, as a stand it is great but as a fan it is just not usable for me.
I would recommend this to a friend!
