best camera for me

My first canon camera was a AE-1 which I still have. that camera is over 40 years old and still works perfectly.
I was using a canon sx100 Digital point and shoot then moved to this T3i WOW what a difference. I am a Professional photographer that shoots a lot of outdoor / indoor events, having the live view and also having an articulating screen for shooting at raised arms length to get the shot is amazing. Often I must stand behind someone in the crowd and shoot over the top of them to get the shot I am looking for. What a difference having the articulating screen makes. In the first year of owning this camera I have taken well over 20,000 pictures. I go into Mexico on roads most would call a wagon trail rough bumpy dusty my camera bag has been tossed around in the back of a vehicle getting to the shoot. I have been in very dusty hot conditions. This camera is still going. After two plus years my camera still looks new it does not show any signs of wear.Canon says operating temp for this camera is 104 degrees my camera has been locked in a vehicle for security reasons with outside temps soaring 110+ inside car is scorching. Other times I have had camera in the cold for hours well below -15 F It works in all and any condition I throw at it. Battery life is very good for me as I shoot about 500-600 a weekend on 1 battery 1 charge.Between 550-600pics I must change to my second battery. I shoot the highest jpeg file that the T3i has which is just under the raw setting so my files have a lot of info and this camera gives me the best performance. The only thing bad is if I forget to recharge the battery that is why I care two battery with me at all times. Due to lots of night and low light photography I use the canon 430 II flash. Can not say enough on how great this product is. This is a great beginners camera to a Pro looking for a lighter camera. the LCD screen is hard to see in direct sun light that is the only flaw I have seen in all the time I have owned and used this camera.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Dim LCD

AWESOME T3I

I bought my T3I a couple years ago and have had nothing but fun ever since. Now my hobby is 100% taking pictures. I love it. I love learning everything about this camera. I'm so proud after posting a picture to the different social networking sites and friends responding how beautiful my pictures are. I like my camera more than I do most DSLR cameras popping out onto the online stores & market. I am a Canon owner for life. Now that I am on 100% disability I've learned to take up my spare time being 'creative'. I can be totally upset and go off to the local park and start taking pictures and forget the bad things that life throws your way. Thanks to ALL the Quality Control specialists that work for Canion. Like I said in the beginning, I have NEVER had an issue with my T3I and can't find anything negative online about my (T3I) camera. When I get the money I will upgrade to the 70D (an old mans dream). Something to hope and wish for, I'll keep saving and maybe get one before I pass on. My T3I will goto a grandson who also enjoys my photography hobby. Sorry this was so long of a review but really just a tip of the iceberg on how I feel about my camera. Best of luck to all new and old photographers out there with YOUR Canon camera. A special thanks to Canin for making such a great product!!
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use, you can start right off in auto mode., become a pro from the first time you turn it on!
Cons: sorry no cons here :-(

Easily the best Rebel so far!

I've owned several Canon DSLR's before purchasing the T3i and each generation gets better and better.
The T3i has everything I wanted - articulated high-res screen, excellent noise control at higher ISO's, good user interface with dedicated buttons so you do less menu hopping, great IQ and video performance, plenty of features and fast AF performance.
The DPP software that comes with the camera is surprisingly powerful and flexible too although I shoot mainly JEPG's.
My only issue is I wish Canon would up the continuous frame rate from 3.7 to say 4.5 or higher and give you a bigger buffer. It was a tough decision between the T3i and the 60D for this reason.
Overall the T3i is a powerful, comfortable, easy to use and very competent picture-taking machine for me.
Pros: Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: slow burst rate

WOW, What a camera

I have had a bunch of point and shoots plus the Canon S2is whick was a good camera but could not get the pics I wanted in hockey rinks, and at the Ball field. Plus the nephews won't sit still for a minute. A friend of mine steered me to this camera even though she uses the other brand in her photography business, She told me that for the money this was the camera to by. So far I have to agree and so far I am not dissapointed. This camera replaces the Canon S2is and a Canon AE-1 35mm. I love the ease of zooming ,focusing, and the image stabilization. The ability to continuos shoot. I know there are faster cameras out there, but not at this price. I also got the 55-250mm IS lens. a welcome addition to the kit. other than a flash I don't think I will need anything else for a long time. I put as my only con that the shutter sound should be adjustable. I may not have found that adjustment in the menus, it may or may not exist, or it could just be me.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: need ability to quiet the shutter sound

If you are looking for a camera that can help you get used to DSLRs and photography in general but also allows you to have awesome features then you should definitely want to do some research on this camera. I'm not a professional photographer but I have had a little bit of experience with photography and DSLRs. I have to admit I was a little iffy about picking this camera because of the price tag, but after doing a little digging and comparing it to other DSLRs I saw that this camera was what I needed. I suggest that all first time buyers do just that, compare and do some research on what type of camera will suit you. This camera is perfect for me because I can use it for family events, trips but also for experimenting with photography and just getting used to working with so many features.
Pros: Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, easy to use
Cons: Heavy/Bulky

Excellent beginner DSLR

Great beginner kit for the newbie. The 18-55 kit lens that comes with the bundle is pretty solid. I also purchased a 55-250 zoom lens as well but find myself using the kit lens about 75-80% of the time. The camera itself can be a bit overwhelming at first if you're coming up from a P&S. Took me a couple days to figure out all the settings/functions/buttons etc but, once you do, then you can really start having fun with this thing. Really dig this camera and look forward to years of (hopefully) great photos.
Pros: Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: noisy

Just returned from a cruise to Alaska. Purchased the T3i to capture all the spectacular scenery in photos and videos. I was not disappointed - in fact I was thrilled with how well the camera performed. From mountain landscapes, to close up of flowers to videoing whales feeding - the T3i met all of my expectations and then went beyond! Easy and fun to use - we shot over 600 images a day! Would recommend this camera to anyone!
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: noisy

I just received this camera yesterday and right out of the box, I have been able to shoot professional-grade photos. The controls are very easy to use and the body is very lightweight. My only suggestion is to invest in lens with better zoom capabilities. Overall, a great investment for people looking to take their photography to the next level!!!
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: noisy
