As a first time Digital SLR camera user, I have found the quality of product and ease of use to be beyond expectation. The picture quality is phenomenal. Being able to zoom in on nature shots without loosing quality is a huge plus. I have also found the learning resources on the Canon website to be invaluable!
I love my Canon Rebel T3i!

TOTALLY AWESOME CAMERA!!

I am new to photography in every sense of the word, I've been researching photography terms and apature priority and shutter priority and ISO. I didn't know an F stop from a bus stop before. I just got really interested and have been looking at cameras for several months. This morning I made my move and bought this beauty. I have NOT used Ingtelligent Auto since I bought it, I have been using AV, TV and M. I just can't believe what kind of pictures and video I'm getting having NEVER owned a DSLR before. If you are even remotely considering buying a camera there is ABSOLUTELY no way you can go wrong with this one. Get a good class 6 or 10 memory card and a UV filter and you are in business. What a beauty this camera is!! THANKS CANON!
Pros: Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: none to date

The Rebel T3i- a great confidence builder

I recently purchased the EOS Rebel T3i 18-55 kit. When I first opened it up I was a bit overwhelmed, thinking I got more camera than I could handle. I found a DVD online specifically for this model. Once I saw how the camera functions worked, I was more at ease. It gave me confidence to take my first shot. On a glorious three day get-a-way to Victoria BC, I was able to experiment with many features of the Rebel T3i – the scenery was incredible. To enhance this kit I also purchased a 100-300 telephoto lens, tripod, extra battery and case. Looking at the photos I took, I see the big difference in quality and clarity from ones taken with my old camera, a Canon Power Shot A590 IS, and am looking forward to competency with all the features of my new camera. I highly recommend the EOS Rebel T3i to people who want to take their photography to the next level.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

Great buy

Being a professional skydiving photographer for 8 years, I've always been a fan of the Canon SLRs. My XT lasted forever through a lot of wear and tear, but I eventually needed more fps and higher than 8mp.
Canon's impressive quality sets the bar with the T3i. Fast, easy to use, and the battery lasts a long time! I've been jumping with the T3i for a little over a year now, and am a satisfied customer.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Poor build quality

This is my first Digital SLR before this I used a Canon Rebel G, it was a good camera but I was still limited to 24 pictures and no video...I am a Media Production Major and I have used the T3i for shooting Commercials for a class. The HD video is very well and the swivel screen helps me frame up shots a lot easier. The only complaint I have is that, to white balance I need to take a picture of a white sheet of paper then white balance. That is a little inconvenient. The picture quality is amazing. Since I was using 35mm this is a big improvement for my picture taking. I am able to take more pictures, and produce them a lot faster. I would (and have) recommend anyone buying this camera.
Pros: excellent image quality
Cons: price of lenses

My first DSLR

Canon cameras are not new to me, but this is my first DSLR, and I love it! I am only just beginning to discover everything it has to offer and I am always learning new tricks and things to do. It takes amazing photos very quickly, which is a must when I am chasing around my toddler! Auto focus takes a long time with the Lcd screen open but works great with it closed. I don't really get it but now I always photograph like that. I love this camera so much and plan on using it for a.long time!
Pros: Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Short battery life
