What A Great Camera

I have owned an SX130is point and shoot for some time, and I thought that was all the camera I would ever need. Boy was I wrong! My brother bought this camera on a whim, along with the 55-250mm lens, bag, 5 batteries etc, and he didn't like it. He was about to return it, and I bought it from him. It was one of the best decisions I ever made. I live in south eastern Vermont, and the picture opportunities here are amazing, and this camera elevated my pictures 10 fold. It is literally almost impossible to take a bad shot with it. Compared to the point and shoot, there is no lag between shutter release and capture, and the image quality is just amazing.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Solid Operation, easy to use
I would recommend this to a friend!

For years now I have been limited to using a tripod or monopod to obtain decent pictures but with the T3i I am now back to shooting freehand once more. Even night shots are successful freehand, I never enjoyed that before now. Thank you Canon for allowing me to fully enjoy photography again.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Solid Operation

Simply Fantastic

I just returned from two weeks in Tuscany with my T3i purchased just for the trip. I had just a few days before leaving to familiarize myself with the camera, coming from a point and shoot digital and 35mm background.
Very easy to use right out of the box, setting modes are handy, but not initially necessary. Results are simply breathtaking. The color saturation and resolution are beyond compare. I was prepared to have a good experience and what this camera has allowed me to achieve is exponentially greater. I can't wait to dig deeper into the custom settings and controls to take this camera to the limit.
Pros: good battery life, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

Fantastic Camera

I've owned several SLR cameras, but this is my first digital SLR camera. I love it. I was taking great photos 5 minutes after installing the battery and memory card. I have tried taking photos using several setting, and haven't taken a bad one yet. I can't believe haw many advanced features are on this camera. You can tell it is a top of the line camera just by holding it in your hand. You can just feel the quality, and when you press the shutter, the sound of the shutter tells you it's a quality Canon camera. I would recommend this camera to any photographer, whether amateur or professional. I couldn't be happier!
Pros: small foot print, lcd screen, both photo and video, light weight, easy to set up, easy to use right out of the box, easy to understand manual, great support of camera, many features only found in high end cameras, all features are at you fingertips
I would recommend this to a friend!

Outstanding!

If you want a camera that you can take out of the box, set on "Automatic" and take very good photos, this camera will do it. So will a good quality point-and-shoot for a lot less money. If you want a camera that will give you the ability to take incredible photos under almost any conditions, this is it. It takes some practice and experimentation to learn what the T3i is capable of, but you won't be disappointed. I took a 12 hr non-credit digital photography class at the local community college and it was worth every penny of the cost. Photography is fun again! The T3i more then held it's own against the comparable big name cameras in the class. I bought this camera for the ability to take some excellect photos when my wife and I go to Bora Bora in Nov. I have no doubt it will be up to the task. Buy it, but by all means learn it's features and how to use them. Once you do be prepared to spend even more money on the accessories that will make the experience even better.
Pros: extremely capable and adaptable.
Cons: using it can become an addiction!

Great entry-level camera

Some controls, like color temperature, are too tricky to reach inside the menus, 1-2 more buttons on the body would have been a very good thing. Holding the camera, you have a really plasticky feeling, far from professional grade build quality. Especially in video mode, in the dark areas of the frame, image is quite noisy even at low ISO and some useful features are obviously missing, compared to the higher end models, but other than that, which has to be expected, I consider this camera, at present, one of the best purchase in the EOS lineup, considering how much its price has dropped. Absolutely no need to go for a t4i or t5i, especially if you are interested in shooting videos.
Pros: Lightweight/Portable, good for stills and videos, unexpensive
Cons: Missing features/settings, Complicated controls/menu, noise

Amazing camera

I purchased the EOS T3i 18-55mm kit, along with an additional 70-100mm lens, this spring. I had done considerable research to advise a friend what camera to buy. She bought it and asked me to show her how to use it...after the first five pictures, I was hooked and had to have one of my own! The color is incredibly pure. The night shots are unbelievable. The rapidity of focus and shooting are beyond my expectations. I have recommended and demonstrated it to all of my friends. I am really high on your camera! Thanks for the opportunity to share!
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: noisy

Great camera

I recently borrowed one of these from a family member to use while on vacation. Without ever reading the manual I found the camera very easy to use and packed with features. This is not a simple point and shoot camera but in auto-mode it may as well be, it is that simple. For those who like creative options there are many to choose from. This camera will elevate photography of an amateur and pro alike. Great design 5 stars, now I have to buiy one.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Solid Operation, easy to use, fast cycle for quick pciture taking
