Excellent Non-Pro Option

For anyone who wants to graduate from the point-and-shoot camera world, but avoid spending the money for a professional grade camera, this is a terrific option.
.
There's a ton of features, but they do require some effort from you (the user) to learn how to use them. My favorite part of owning this camera is that it does drive me to get out and practice and experiment with it.
.
The performance and quality are both good, but I feel the 'excellent' mark is still reserved for the professional-grade models.
.
There's really nothing negative to say about this camera. It delivers a ton of value and stands as one of my favorite purchases in recent years.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very good DSLR camera

I had the Canon EOS Rebel T3i for about 5 months now. I am very please with its performance. This is my first DSLR. I am impressed with the quality of pictures especially with low light situations. The high ISO setting is very convenient in low light. Interior low light pictures without the flash come out really good looking and sharp. About 99% of my pictures come out tack sharp, others I believe is due to my hand movement. I know I should use a tripod. I have taken thousands of pictures with this camera and this is one serious DSLR. I am not too crazy with the video future since it does not have the auto focus as you take the video. But I have a dedicated HD 1080p camcorder for that. However, the videos I take are short clips and I fix the focus first and get really awesome HD videos. Ergonomics wise it is a perfect size for me. Feature wise I love the scene intelligent auto feature. It is a very sophisticated camera and I am learning it as I use it. I also like the software interface to load/edit and print pictures. The kit lens is a good lens for what I do, and I am planning on getting the 15-85mm lens next year.I highly recommend this camera for any one wanting to take excellent pictures (especially low light) with a DSLR.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, excellent low light auto iso

Bought as a second camera to a 1Ds, It's hard to know where to start with this review. The camera is nothing short of AWESOME, features, controls and handling are perfect. Bought as a kit with 18-55 and 55-250mm IS lens its a great package. The photos are crisp and AF is fast and precise. Noise (grain in dark areas at high ISO speeds) is almost eliminated. There are many features to explore like B&W with built in filters, wireless TTL flash (with appropiate flash), Video at high RES is just amazing! I have tested this camera against a full frame higher MP DSLR and it matches picture quality. You just can't dislike this camera. I purchased the verical grip and its great for handling vertical shots and gives extra battery life for more photos.
Pros: money well spent 5 stars all the way
Cons: you didn't come out with it sooner

Great for Beginner

Stepped up from the Canon Powershot A620. This is my first DSLR, wanted to stick with Canon as I love my A620 and was familiar with some of the menus. I used to have a 35mm back in the day, and boy have cameras changed. I wanted a DLSR for sometime now and read all the reviews, but I trust Canon as I've always had good success with their cameras (my third Canon)... and I'm not disappointed!!
Right out of the box I was taking pictures! This camera is way more advanced than my old one .. plenty of options. Read the manual (although it could be a little better).. I also picked up a seperate book and I'm turning out some great pictures. The image quality is fantastic, the pictures are vibrant and colorful and the camera has solid build. I'm by no means a photographer, but I take tons of pictures of my family and vactions - and 18 megapixals - talk about sharp!! I had the flip out screen on my old camera, and I use it a lot for videos .. this screens bigger and now I get HD videos!! I have the 18-135mm Kit .. the autofocus is fast and its a perfect all around lens. All I can say is wow. The T3i even has on screen feature guide to help you learn the camera and explain the functions WHILE taking pictures!! Since my purchase I've added the speedlite 430 and a 50mm 1.8 lens .. I'm taking more picturs than ever and just having lots of fun!!
If you're a beginner, want a camera that's easy to use and takes great pictures I'd suggest you consider the T3i.
Pros: on screen feature guide, flip out screen, fast shutter speed, lots of lenses, easy to use
Cons: price, manual could be a little simpler

Surprisingly Powerful!

The T3i is a powerhouse!
I am a film maker and have shot professional music videos and documentaries with this camera. The flip screen makes it stand way above it's class in handling, and you can always get the angle you want while being relatively comfortable and able to pull focus!!
The battery life is great, I don't know why thats a con.
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use
Cons: Missing features/settings, Poor build quality

It is amazing the quality that comes from this camera, I have no professional experience, but this makes me look like a pro, and I am impressed with how this camera knows exactly what do do, and the conditions by detection to shoot. I would recommend it to any parent! I want to take photos everywhere I go now!
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
