Purchased this laptop for my daughter as she gets ready for freshman year at college. Its overwhelming to try and buy a laptop that will last through college and beyond without breaking the bank. This Pavillion special edition seems to have it all in terms of touch screen, memory, graphics/sound upgrade, etc. The only thing keeping me from giving it 5 starts is that it does not have a backlit keyboard.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Nice Laptop for the Price

The Beats laptop is reasonably priced, I love the touch screen and the back-lit keyboard, the keys have an excellent feel. It is fast enough and comes with a huge 1 TB hard drive. The HP added software/features are good. Overall I'm satisfied with this purchase.
About the only two criticisms I have are the look is very cheap plastic and the sound is nothing special. For something with the Beats brand so prominently displayed on it I'm surprised the sound is flat (no bass) and not very loud. If you are purchasing this for the sound, look somewhere else. I was disappointed as I was hoping for a better multimedia experience as the ad made it look like a great device for this.

Love the AMD A8

This computer is FAST. Nonetheless, I'm not a big fan of Windows 8.1, or 8 for that matter.
The much lauded Beats audio system was a dud on arrival but the HP tech help bring it to life.

I love my new beats laptop. I haven't watched the start up video yet, so I'm FUSTRATED with windows 8. Love the touchscreen.

Good laptop to have

I've only had this laptop for few weeks now and so far, the only problem I have with it is the battery life. It doesn't last as long as I had hoped. The charger heats up really quickly too.
Apart from that, it is a good product, easy to use and light to handle. I was a bit apprehensive about the Windows 8 but it is one of the best features on it.

I love this laptop, it took awhile with shipping. But it was worth the wait! I would defiantly recommend this laptop. I love the reaction I get when other people see it, because It's black and red. It looks awesome and works great. Love It!

I am not impressed with Beats sound system...OK at best, sound was better on my previous HP business machine. The computer is fast, but has way too much preloaded software. Feels like just another computer company making money off laptops off every bit of software they can piggyback onto it for a fee from others. Maybe someday HP and other manufactures will understand that if I buy a product I do not want them to try to sell me things that I do not want.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
