Very Sleek And Light

Owning multiple laptops, this is my first foray into the Chromebook world. This has now become my primary machine. It is light, fast and I am impressed with the battery life. Will most likely be purchasing another one soon.
Alright here is my background computer wise (Skip this paragraph if you just want details on the computer.) I had an Asus G73-SX Republic of Gaming Desktop Replacement. Complete capable of anything but was the least transportable thing in my life. It was super heavy and huge and just not reasonable when generally all I was doing was surfing the internet 90% of the time since I no longer game as much as I used to. SO, that was super impractical. Well, I knew about Chromebooks because a friend of mine had been one of those people that got the original CR-48 (or whatever it was called) and I got to play on it. I thought that would work great for me since I definitely wanted something infinitely more portable and being honest about it... I use Google Docs and the other Office equivalents because I hate Microsoft. (Tarnishing Cortona's name like that. Evil.)
Anyways, I was considering buying a Chromebook with the money that I was going to make with the sale of my Asus and I did not know which one to buy cause I kept reading that this one was not going to be powerful enough and I don't like HP. Well I knew that I love Samsung products and this was the 13 inch and I took the dive.
Here was my experience.
First of all, the computer (for me personally) was infinitely lighter, I loved that out of the box, it is slender but not to the point it seems like the build is going to easily get damaged. It also does look very nice with the leather texture on the back. Like many have said, that feature does reduce visible finger smudge. The keyboard is great and if you are worried about converting to a Chromebook because you have a chronic problem with using the cap locks and you are afraid your typing ability will plummet back to the ages that justify use of pen and paper - STOP. You can do this. Seriously within 2 days I had hit that search button so many times, that I conditioned myself to hate my own existence if I did not use the SHIFT as opposed to the Search button. And you see I apparently have adjusted since then since I am typing this review on that same computer.
The buttons lining the top of the keyboard are convenient with the full screen buttons, light, and sound buttons being my most used. I also will mention at this point, starting and closing the computer to hibernate mode is a dream. I traditionally use my cell phone as my means of talking to people (using G+ and FB chat) but only within WiFi because I am too cheap to buy minutes most of the time. Well, it is so fast for me to open this computer and hit the power button on that I no longer bother much with my phone.
Regarding the performance. I do not play games on the internet on my computer so that will not apply here, but I do create new tabs from links like a junkie. I regularly have (let me count right now) 1...2....3.... 18 tabs open at any time. That includes my Email, Google Drive, job applications, Facebook, and a website that has all these episodes of a show I am watching. The point it that I am not running all of them at the same time. No I am not playing the tv show while watching a bunch of vines on facebook and editing a picture on whatever app you use to do that. But why would you? That makes no sense. The glitchiest time in my usage of the computer is when I use the app Streamus and start doing things, the music will occasionally-to-frequently lag. But then again the app is in Beta.
My main complaints about this computer would be the problem with Streamus, the power cord length could be.... just a smidgen longer, and I had to adjust to the screen/text, cause it was small for me. I have astigmatism and I am not wearing any glasses currently so that could be partially my fault. Otherwise I am thrilled with my purchase cause price wise. I have already put enough hours on this computer to completely justify this purchase.
Now, that being said. I bought this out of loyalty Samsung created in me during high school with a mp3 player that to this day I enjoyed more then any iPod, and I know not the name of it. I gave this computer a chance because I thought it would be good enough. And it is. Good enough. But, I do not want to own this computer for 3 years like my last couple computers. I want to own this computer for like... 1 and 3/4 years max. And by that time, I want Samsung to have come out with my dream computer. No conditional lagging, better screen, smidgen longer cord. It doesn't even have to be lighter, or better built, the computer is completely functional. I just know the next computer will be... all I need for... a very long time - at least I hope.
So buy this computer, it will suit your needs for now. And then when Samsung comes out with the perfectly designed computer in like... the next year, buy that, and realize just how good Samsung has always been at product design, then replace all your appliances and everything that Samsung creates, make yours.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Inexpensive, Lightweight, leather texture, mostly sufficient in every way
Cons: Not high def, power cord not quite long enough
I would recommend this to a friend!

Chromebooks are overall pretty good computers. They're fast, (except for certain websites, but that just might be the server) sleek, and everything is stored online. (That's what attracted me to the product.) We used the Chromebook 11's in my school. I loved how easy it was to type up essays, do projects, and how fast the computer was! So, I asked for a Chromebook for my birthday, and I got the Chromebook 2. I specifically wanted a new laptop because my old one was very slow, and I wanted to edit my videos for youtube. Little did I know, basically NO editor supports Chrome OS. Google needs to fix this problem soon. However, they are taking baby steps because I hear that they are releasing Andriod apps onto the Chromebooks in the near future. (This year.) Another con is that the speakers are in the bottom of the computer, placed in a way that sometimes if I'm laying down with my laptop on my thighs, it'll muffle the sound a bit. The battery life also isn't as good as the Chromebook 11's. It also doesn't capture video, even though it has a webcam. Tip: If you get it in black, and yu get a scratch, put crayon over it, the wax will fill it in. :)
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Inexpensive, Lightweight, has docs free unlike microsoft word, is fast
Cons: Did not meet expectations, Not high def, no video capture, no video editor, battery life isn't as good as the chromebook 11's
