Epson Powerlite 8350

This is a good projector but not a great one. The first bulb went out at 946 hours. Epson did send a "one time replacement free bulb" but if this one last only 25% of the expected life I will be very unhappy. I was also surprised that when running a dvd or older movie or recorded program that was not designed to fill the full screen the projector will not allow for changing aspect to full screen if the source of the signal is over hdmi. My previous projector was a different brand and its bulbs lasted longer than rated and it allowed change in aspect from any source.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Exceeded My Expectations

Had very high expectations based on other's review but this thing really performs. I couldn't be happier. I have a great home theater now. It was super-easy to set up and I was able to start watching movies within a half hour.
Only drawback is constant stream of friends, neighbors, and family wanting to come over and watch HD movies. I'm going broke on beer and chips!

Great projector for all uses

This was my first projector and I could not be more pleased. Not only with the performance of the unit but with Epson customer service as well. We use the projector in a permanent set up with a ceiling mount on a 110" movie screen for family movie nights, sporting events and for the kids xbox gaming. It has a bright and brilliant picture even in daylight settings. Easy to set up, easy to operate. The only issue I experienced was my lamp burnt out after only 600 hours, they are suppose to last 2000+. This turned out to be a non-issue since after a quick call to the Epson customer service they shipped me a replacement lamp at no cost. A+++ service!!! I look forward to many years of enjoying this projector!!

Great projector while the bulb lasts

This is a great projector as long as the bulb lasts. This model was purchased based on the recommendation of a family member who owned the same model for less than a year. Within the first 1 1/2 years of each of us owning them, the projectors blew their bulbs. The projector/bulb stated that the bulb was a 4000 hour life. Each of us only had appx. 1000 hours on the bulb. Epson graciously sent out a "1 time courtesy replacement" on the bulb, but that leaves us to wonder how long these bulbs will last and how much (several hundred dollars) it will cost to replace them in a year.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Epson 8350 WOW!

I just upgraded my 110" home theater room to the Epson Home Cinema 8350 from the VPL-W400Q. Those into home theaters will recognize my old projector from it's model number. The difference is astounding and I am in love with this projector. Epson was one of the few manufacturers that gave me the mounting flexibility I needed based on where my old projector was mounted and the quality of the image is amazing for the price. Highly recommended!

Epson 8350 Home Cinema

Finally decided to finish out the basement. Wanted a Home Theatre setup. After many reviews went with the Epson 8350! Basement is not finished yet but couldn't resist setting up projector for first week of football and WOW! From approx 13' away screen size and clarity amazing even on a painted block wall! Hung the screen up and even more amazed! Friends and family wowwed as well! My son who is 6 said, " Daddy its better than I thought it would be." Not to mention playing Space Marine on the XBOX360. Haven't left the basement in 2 days and have been sitting in outside plastic Adirondack loungers! Do yourself a favor and just buy this projector!

My best tv purchase ever !

I'm a big huge sports fan and this is the best tv purchase of my life ! Watching this football season has been a tremendous year with my Epson 8350 ! I also purchased a 100 in screen and i love it. It's like you have your own movie theater. I promise u it will be the best purchase you could imagine ! Your friends will never want to leave ! Ha Ha !

My skeptical about Epson projector 8350 is erased when the picture/color so beautiful on 100" screen with friends while watched Super Bowl XLVII.Great product!
