Lamp/Bulb life inappropriately short

I loved this projector. I anticipated having to replace the lamp in two years and figured that expense into my decision. I did not anticipate having to replace it within six months and did not have that in my budget. Consequently, we have been without a television for three months.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Amazing For The Money!

This is an amazing projector! I have had it since mid December of 2013 at Best Buy, and all I can say is wow. I already have 168 hours on the projector. Watching tons of TV, Movies are out of this world. You feel like you are really there in the movie! You will never get this clear image from anyone else but Epson. Thats the only brand we will buy. I use to have a Epson PowerLite 77c and that was a good starter projector but now that I have this amazing FULL 1080P projector I have looked at them "side by side" and I'm like, you get what you pay for. It was fine just for hocking up my Mac to but NOT for home theater! Everyone knows it a lot but it's well worth it!!!

We have the 8350 projector ceiling mounted in a theater room. Distance to 110 inch screen is about 9 feet. We have used the projector for a about a year and a half now. The image is bright, even with some window shades open. Remote is easy to use, and intuitive. Adjusting the lens for screen size and focus is very straightforward, and it seems to hold focus without the need for adjustments. Family who use remote seem to figure out functions easily. My only critique would be that on HDMI setting the aspect ratio cannot be changed. I am not sure why this is, but it limits our ability to shift formats. On rare occasion we receive an error message when turning on the projector. But this is resolved by unplugging and restarting the projector. This happens maybe 10% of the time. On whole I am satisfied with the 8350 and believe it is a good value.

After reviewing projectors for 9 months or so I finally pulled the trigger on the Epson 8350. I read all the reviews I could find and the Epson seemed outstanding. I was not disappointed. The picture is absolutely beautiful. Projecting on 100" screen from about 14 feet away the image is just outstanding. It's like having a 100 inch television. All my friends just cannot believe the quality of the picture. They are literally blown away. I am a little worried about the lamp life issues which were present on the Epson 8100. I hope those issues have been resolved. I've only got about 5 hours on the projector thus far so I can't really comment on the life of the bulb on the Epson 8350. In my opinion, Epson has a winner on it's hands with the 8350.

Best Affordable Projector

The epson 8350 is an amazing projector. I had an optoma hd65 which wasnt bad but compared to the epson it is prehistoric. The picture out of box isn't bad but when you calibrate it there is a way better picture. Movies look incredible. Video games are lifelike and no more small boxes when playing with a friend. One of the best features that no other afforable and most high ends projectors do not offer is lens shift. You can put the projector virtually anywhere and it will move to fit the screen. Another spectacular feature is the zoom capabilities. Epson really makes it easy for normal working people to built their own affordable home theater. Now if you are into 3D I suggest you check out epson's newer projectors.

Love My Epson 8350

I had previously owned a DLP Optoma HD70 and after 3 years the color wheel shattered. When looking for a replacement projected I decided to switch from DLP to LCD because of the color wheel issue. The Epson 8350 is much brighter, colors are bold, great contrast ratio and the flexiblity in the throw distance made this projector perfect for my home theater. The only thing missing is a USB port.

My 3rd Epson projector (went from 480p to 720p to 1080p). This is the best one yet. The picture is stunning. 1080p at 120" is spectacular. This is THE HD projector to purchase. I've been using projectors since 2004 and this is the best consumer model available.

Epson 8350 Projector

This projector was easy to set up and use right out of the box. We're using it to project from a laptop and blu-ray DVDs to audiences of 50-100 people. Getting the image to fit the screen was very easy to do with the 4 available settings. Switching input signals was also very easy. The image is crystal clear. I only wish we had a bigger screen to project onto.
