Epson 8350

I just upgraded from my 5 year old 800 x 600 projector. Perhaps the lamp on the older projector was fading, but regardless, we are "blown away" by the brightness, sharpness and contrast of the 8350. It is also very quiet, almost silent. My motivation to upgrade finally came when we couldn't make out anything in very dark scenes, like the shootout in "Unforgiven". The 8350 was perfect when we tested with that scene, equalling if not surpassing our high definition television.
I am projecting 120" diagonal. You can't beat the price for that kind of theatre.

wow...this projector was better and i expected..
in a 9ft room i have a 96'' picture...color is far better then a lcd television..it operates very quite...with lights on you can still see a picture, but with lights out it is amazing...far better then i expected...

We went from a 720p to 1080p and are amazed at the difference in picture. We are big time movie watchers and have a theatre room in our basement. The unit is large but isn't an issue in our room. Even with the led lights that trim our projection screen cover, you still have a beautiful picture. We are very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend it to our friends and family. I am really impressed with all the help you can get from Epson. We just purchased this projector a week ago so hopefully it will be a very long time before we require customer service.

Excellent for showing camera club photos

We bought this projector to display high-quality photographs for judging in the monthly competitions of the Charlottesville (Va.) Camera Club. The results have been excellent--big, bold, bright HD images that show all the details for both judging and appreciation by the audience.
This projector is not designed or sold to be portable, but we have had no problem in moving it from storage to our meeting venue, setting it up quickly, and connecting it to a laptop.
A highly recommended projector in every regard--and a good value, too!

Can't touch this

From the first day I hung my 8350, I couldn't be more pleased than ANY other electronics product I've purchased. Nothing touches its quality for the same price. Rock solid images, great contrast ratio, the only thing I don't like about this projector is the manual lens positioning controls. But that's the only thing. On top of that, when I noticed a small flicker in ECO mode on a bulb of 600 hours, I called Epson support and within 1 minute of the call, a new bulb (covered under my 2 year warranty) was being overnighted to me. Awesome support.

Outstanding Performance

Unit was addition to man cave with intent to watch movies. Hooked up to Cable and enjoyed watching NHL Playoffs. Made me feel that I was actuallon on the Ice! Extremely quiet, hard to tell fan is actually working! Sharp picture. Has performed beyond expecations.

Even for Hockey?

My wife and I NEEDED to have something to watch our hockey games that would help feed our addiction to the game. Because of the fast pace of the game we thought we would have to stay with a LCD or LED flat screen. We had been looking at LCD and LED flat screens and it seemed that all the TVs that were larger than 55” had a hard time keeping up with the fast action of the game. The players and puck would be jumping around on the screen like some horror movie. The white ice background is not very forgiving for picture quality. We purchased a 55” LED/LCD TV went we were living in a smaller place so the screen was big enough for us. However, when we moved into a larger place the TV seems so small. Not trying to sound like a snob, it just was what it was. Well, we wanted something bigger and knew we would have to go with a projector instead of a bigger TV so we saved up for about a year while doing research on-line and at audio/video stores to find out what the “best” projector would be for our application. We kept running across the Epson 8350 having the best reviews on-line and when we saw the projector in action at a local A/V store we could not see too much of a difference between the 8350 and other more expensive models. The picture quality of the 8350 was everything we were looking for, smooth, crisp and clear. We finally saved enough money and purchased the 8350 and a 92 inch projector screen to make sure we had the best quality. The projector screen is a pull down model so we mounted it so the screen would come down in front of the 55” and the surround sound would still match with the setup. This way we could watch “regular” TV programs on the TV and save the life of the projector lamp for the most important viewing experience, Hockey (and movies of course). The picture quality is amazing. Everything we were looking for we got with the 8350. It can handle the speed of the game. The puck does not get lost in the white background. The picture is smooth and crisp. We are so glad we made the decision to get this projector. Now, if the San Jose Sharks would get the Stanley Cup that would make our purchase that much better. Go Sharks!
