In the short time I've had the machine I think it's a great machine. This machine can do more than I need. Prints 2-sided. Can use legal paper. Can change density - using less ink. I haven't experienced all the features yet but it prints beautiful pictures and printed copies look "so original". The only dislike is that it has an on-line manual and being "elderly" I would really have liked a printed manual. I've printed a few instructions from the on-line manual that I use frequently - and that's how I get by.

I like the printer and it's capabilities; but I have two problems that keep me from rating it excellent. (1) It takes a long time to start printing -- on the order of minutes -- and (2) it doesn't wake up from sleep when a print job is submitted -- I have to turn off and on again, before printing (in this case, I'd rather have an option to not go into sleep mode)

Not a particularly fast printer, although it does print nicely. Less than 4 months after purchase the scan button does not recognize the computer and scanning needs to be done by an alternate method.

A little difficult to get things right, but once done and you understand how to position the CD drawer, remove the photo paper tray, it works fine for printing on printable CD's. Photos are great as always. It was more complicated than my old Photo RX200.

A Snap to Set Up

Brought the machine home and had my first test page printed within 30 minutes - wirelessly from my home network!
I am surprised because I usually screw up the first installation attempt on anything electronic.
This is because the installation instructions are clear and easy to follow. The software CD managed each step.
One negative, the various trays having to do with the different paper sizes were a surprise and it took a little time to figure out what they each did. Kind of like a puzzle box....
I am totally satisfied with this product. But let's see how it works after a month....

My previous printer / scanner failed at a critical time so I RAN to my nearest office supply, described my situation and small available footprint and bought the XP-810. Startup was simple and I was able to get my critical documents printed, scanned, and sent ahead of my deadline. Thanks!

Nothing more to say. By far the best printer I've ever owned. Do need to remember that ink cost is a major issue with any printer and I haven't had a chance to gauge that yet since I've only had it two weeks.
Very easy to scan and save documents. Makes perfect copies.
I'll throw in a minor criticism. When printing it takes several seconds for the job to begin. But the speed of the printing makes up for it.
