I was very disappointed to discover during set up that the scanner does not have the capacity to scan documents with Optical Text Recognition unless I purchase and install additional software.
My previous scan / printing devices have always included this option.

What a PAIN!!

Been trying to set up Scan to Cloud, have had to register my printer twice, and still cannot find the information needed to set up my computer with this printer. User's Guide directs to Epson Connect, where the links mentioned in the guide DO NOT APPEAR!! Nor does my registered printer!!
Videos are more advertising than helpful.
This is the biggest run-around and pain. It simply should not be this hard. When I installed the printer, everything should have been instantly operational. Nothing should have to be added, and I should not have to waste my time with all of this.
If you want a great review, you should make it that user friendly.

My Epson XP-810 all-in-one printer is all I expected it to be. I still have my first Epson Workforce 435. Just wanted another Epson.

Flimsy Printer

I had the printer for approx. four months and had to change it out for another printer. The cashier did not complete a transaction when I mentioned I had warranty on the printer. She just swapped it out. The printer stop printing correctly. It is very flimsy. I'm afraid to move it around. I handle the printer with much care, because the materials used to make this printer is not sturdy. I purchased the printer for the accessibility to print on CDs. I am just getting ready to try it, and I hope it works. As of today, I still use my Epson Stylus Photo R320. You stopped making this type of printer. The R320 is a great printer and you need to bring it back out. My hope is this XP-810 last just as long and print on the CDs just as well as the R320. However, I don't believe it will. But, I will find out soon. Mostly happy with the wireless to the printer. Thank you for giving my the opportunity to comment.

XP-810 Review

I do like all the functions of this machine. I like the display, simplicity and it is sleek. However, unlike my Workforce 635 that I replaced this with, I am not pleased with the ink of this printer. My Workforce had waterproof ink and a 200 year guarantee on photos. I could use it to make labels for my home made pickles and jams. Those labels would not smear or run when put in to the dishwasher or water boil. The ink on the XP-810 runs even if you sneeze on it. I would have thought that with the Expression line that photos would last 100 plus years and not smear and run with the slightest moisture. I would avoid this machine. If you address an envelope and it gets a bit wet on the way to the mailbox, the address is unreadable and you have to put tape over it. Why bother. I hate the ink with this printer. I like the printable CD/DVD function. That's great. But keep them away from your glass of water. If they would change the ink so your arts, crafts, pictures, mail would last and no become distorted with the smallest moisture, then it would be a top product to have. I want my Workforce pack. That is great ink. Last a 100 years on your pictures.
