I don't have wifi and you hope you could plug an iPhone or desktop computer into the printer but it won't recognize the devices. What's wrong with the printer?

Just Right!

This printer is very good and it does print clearly. There are adjustments I may need to make as I learn more about how to use the many accessories that come with this printer. What I do know is that everything I've had to print in a pinch does not hesitate. Also, I do not use my printer everyday; however, I have not had a problem with it jamming due to dry ink and such. I keep the top covered with the original plastic that it was wrapped in when I unpacked it. This keeps dust from settling inside of any part of the printer. Are there special covers that can be used for this?

Very Poor Printing

Have had this printer for almost 2 years. After a few months it started leaking ink all over my documents and checks. It requires multiple head cleanings at a time. And I have to do this very frequently. This printer just makes a mess of the things I print!

horrible!!!!! don't ever buy one!!!

The ink runs out very quickly and is expensive. When a color or black ink runs too low, it won't allow you to print anything. its frustrating!! AND the black photo cartridge never gets used - yet you can't print in black.
Also, we have had a lot of trouble with the printer saying "offline" when you try to print. We have tried everything EVERYTHING and cant get it to work and then all of a sudden, it will start working again.
We need to constantly run the maintenance and that uses lot of ink - if you don't, your pictures will have stripes of wrong colors all over them.
worst printer ever

Printer problem
on August 14, 2014

The printer seemed nice when we bought it. Soon thereafter it developed a number of issues, namely the cartridge heads made messy mistakes on the print jobs (despite cleaning the heads and alignment pages) and subsequent software updates made computer software issues. Additionally, the printer has been an overall waste of money. Dont buy!!!

Junk

Our previous printer, unfortunately, died, so after extensive research we finally decided on the Epson XP 810. Despite seeing many poor reviews for it on the Epson site and others, we decided to go with it, since all the comparable printers had similar reviews. Not all reviews were bad, just an alarming number of them. We brought it home and set it up. That was easy. We tried printing the test page. No ink. We cleaned the heads and tried again. Nothing. Finally, after four cycles we got a page with all the colors. Now we tried printing a photo. After going through all the fuss we were warned about - closing the output tray, mucking with the lower tray and finally getting the upper tray (for 4x6 and 5x7 photos) we stuck in some 5x7 and printed. Initially, I was pleased with the quality, but then as I was holding it up to the light, I noticed that there were scratches running across the photo. Nice, neat, shallow parallel lines of scratches. Not good. I decided to give it another go with the same and different papers. All had the same scratches. Photos printed from the lower tray were OK, just the prints from the upper tray were scratched. Never-the-less, unacceptable. For grins, I tried the scanning feature. Again, I was initially pleased with the quality so I scanned several items. I shouldn't have. After the third scan, the driver failed and gave me a "JPEG plug-in" error (or wording similar). Cycling power on the printer corrected this problem but I didn't try it but once. Why bother? Within one hour (or less) the printer had proved itself to be a piece of junk. And, in agreement with many others, the cassettes and outfeed tray really do feel like they will snap off at any time.
In summary, it's an un-stable, poorly engineered and poorly manufactured piece of junk.

sad experience

I have tried wireless. I have tried wired. It will only print a test page. Now it wants me to replace a cartridge. It has only printed a couple of pages. I have had this thing on my desk for over a month and it is useless. I do admire the sleek design.

Photo paper must be fed 1 sheet at a time, too difficult if printing multiple photos. Uses excessive amount of ink. Uses color ink even when printing in B&W. You cannot override an out of ink issue, even if it's a color and you are printing in B&W. Cannot enlarge or reduce when copying. Photos print with what appears to be squares in the print, it is not a clean print.
