Getting started

On a scale of 1-10 i would rate this printer as a 1.
The information needed for setup and startup is scatererd all over. I can understand the desire to cut costs however getting the printer setup use the first time and not have to look for information would be most helpful .Not all of the features of the printer are apparent and are not fully explaind .
, an old fashioned book of features and operations would be most helpful. iPERSONALLY DID NOT ENJOY THE EXPEREINCE and am sure I still have not found all of the features of this printer.

poor quality

We bought this because we wanted to upgrade to a wireless printer. Ok, the wireless part works.
The print quality is poor though. It either leaves blobs of black ink on the documents or like this last job, orange horizontal stripes throughout. It also seems not to have a real Black & White setting that uses black ink only. Ready to send it to the e-dump.
The scanner portion works well.

Don't buy this printer!

I have never owned a printer as bad as this one. Even after I install an ink cartridge, it tells me it is empty. You know how with other printers, even when it says ink is low you can still print for a little while? Not with this one. You can't get past the message saying the ink is low. I've spent a fortune on ink cartridges. If even one color is low, it won't let you print, and there are 4 cartridges.

Epson is known for great photo printouts. I got the XP-810 because I wanted something small and compact. The added scanner and back paper feeder were a bonus. I got home and immediately got to working with it. Lower tray feeding was good. I just did not enjoy the fact that the page adjusters were waaayy to the back of the paper holder. Then I tried to print some paper stuff from the back. They got jammed. Looked, blew, and touched to make sure there were no obstructions. It's new. I should not have to. Tried numerous times, one time it would, the nest two it would jam. Then I decided to try photo paper. Same thing. Jammed. Plus something scratched the paper. I tried an envelope. It spit it out about 5 times before it took it. Oh, it had done that with some of the paper too before it started printing. I tried a photo on the main paper tray. It printed the photo fine, but it had some creases on it. Tried a few different brands of papers I'm used to using. The quality was awful. So, I took it back the next day. Afraid to exchange it for another one just in case it was the same.

Worst Printer I have ever purchased

This printer is so bad Epson even sent me a 2nd one at no cost. This 2nd one isn't any better than the 1st. This was supposed to replace the Artisan series which was great - amazing photo colors. This XP810 is terrible. I have had many problems with it including now on this second printer - it will not print or copy. I did all the troubleshooting including previewing the copy. The preview is fine - just won't print. Do not buy this.

ink cartridges

the ink cartridges, which are many for one printer run out too quickly and the system will not print until that cartridge that is needed is replaced even if it a color cartridge and all you want to do a print in black. it seems as if it uses all cartridges on all prints without the option of just using black cartridge

Epson Expression XP 810 Small in One

Hello everyone. I just purchased this printer (though not the ultimate I was looking for), after much research and seeing revues. I must say that I do love the small footprint and size, and the features it does have, much of which I do want, minus a couple in particular. However, I've only worked with it a couple of days (just purchased it on the 20th, I think set it up on the 21st, and began using it yesterday, the 22nd. I loved the quality of colors and black and white print for my photos (and I work with a lot of photos and negatives#, and documents - was absolutely amazing. But then, the ink all ran out after just a few photos and pages #not too many#, from yesterday and today. I replaced the cartridges today, and nothing but green coloring and a smidgen of blue at first, came forth. The I realized I needed to clean the print head #already#, and had to put this through several times for the colors to all but one, come up to almost normal #and just one liners, too, and only a few pages#. And guess what, already, nearly all the cartridges are almost empty, and in replacing the PBK cartridge #which became totally empty at this time#, it does not even show that it has been replaced. I just cannot afford to pay for several sets of ink cartridges everyday, no matter how much I love the size and other features of the printer, which I do. So, since I'm within my days of being able to exchange printers, I most likely do so. After two years of not being able to print from another brand, and a refurbished item at that, and no help from the managers of the customer service of that brand #though the other workers wanted to be helpful, and I'm still within my 5 year warranty of that other brand of printer), I really needed to have something that worked real well, and had at least most of the features I wanted. This one could have met at least part of those needs, if it were not for the expense and lack of duration of the ink cartridges. So sad about this, very sad. The printer is already registered, so will have to let them know the ink situation is one think I'm not happy with. I'm disappointed, but glad for those who are really enjoying what they do have. I hope that continues. It is a great printer aside from the ink cartridge and cost of ink, situation.
Thank you and have a great day.

Very easy to use

I am very happy I purchased this all in one printer. It truly is an all in one. It copies, scans, faxes and prints. It is wireless which I wanted. The touch pad is so easy to use and VERY user friendly. The touch pad is large enough for this middle aged woman to be able to read it! The copies have come out perfectly. My only concern is that the trays seem to be so flimsy, I am not sure how long they will last. I really do like that there are two paper trays. I do recommend this printer to anyone.
