Great printer. Reasonable priced black ink. First print page is slow, but it does print. I think it is because of the wireless setup.

So far all I have done is to try to navigate the great software maze. I sure hope I get to use this soon.

I bought this printer less then a year ago and have had ongoing problems with splotches of ink all of the pages and missing spaces. Tried cleaning the print head and no luck.

DO NOT BUY!

This is my third Epson inkjet printer. The first two made beautiful color prints and both died after three years. I was willing to accept a shot life span for a high quality product but this time I got a bad machine and a bad product. Very disappointing. I'm done with Espon.

It's Good, but NOT as Great as the Artisan Series

First, this is a review by a power printing user. I print bulletins and CD labels for my church. As such, some of my comments may not apply to the average user.
I migrated from the Artisan series of printers to the Expression 810. The ONLY reason is because at about 9900 copies/prints... the Epsons are as good as dead due to 'Ink Pad Saturation' (?), but you can't do anything about it as the built in counter literally kills the printer, whether you have an ink pad problem or not... and they are NOT easily serviceable. I had to literally toss a good working Artisan 810 in the trash. I miss it terribly.
The Expression 810 prints wonderfully on regular paper and photo ... as long as it isn't 2-sided printing. The printer somehow turns the 2nd page 180 (upside down) in auto duplex mode for what I want it to do. To fix that, you have to do manual 2-sided printing and disregard the way it tells you to put the paper back in the tray. Never had this problem with the Artisan series.
The other main feature I use is the CD/DVD direct printing. On the Artisan the tray is built in and allows 'stacking' in print queue with minimal user input. The Expression 810 has a separate plastic tray that requires literally twice as much work to print as the Artisan did. I HATE the multi-prompting messages it gives with required extra touch screen interaction to get the job done... and no queueing is allowed, so multiple prints are a pain in the rear.
The next feature that is screwed up is 'Print Preview'... it is non-existent even if set in the printer properties. It doesn't matter if you set it as default or try to preview at the local print source, it ain't happening. WHY NOT???
Other than this, if you are a casual printer user, the Expression 810 prints fine. The tray is smaller and doesn't hold much paper, but the feed is at least good.
All in all, due to my good experiences with the Artisan series, I have to give the XP-810 just an average score. It would be HORRIBLE if it didn't at least afford me the means to print on CDs, but I've already mentioned that. And why can't Epson tech support PLEASE fix the duplex auto printing function somehow. Inexcusable.
