pretty nice for awhile

Had this printer for 13 months (bye, bye warranty).
-Touch screen very inaccurate. Over time I've learned where to press to get the desired action.
-More and more often I have to run a cleaning cycle or two to get a clear print out of it.
-Haven't been able to print in draft mode for months.
- Now the scans / copies have vertical streaks the length of the page and a fold in the original (even if flattened out) produces a large black line across the page, obliterating any text.
- Drinks ink like an old Cadillac Eldorado. I get, maybe, 100 pages out of a black cartridge that should get ~ 250.

Extremely bad Ink Hog or bad Monitor

Purchased in June 2014 (approximately 10 months):
Horrible Ink consumption, I am about to replace this Epson if support cannot or will not help me get this printer to be as efficient in yield as Epson boasts. Epson claims the 273 standard ink cartridge yields 250 sheets, I have not been able to get 100 sheets from any of my replacements.

Expression XP-810

I have owned Epson products for years. I was never so disappointed in in a piece of hardware as I am with this Printer version. I buy Epson mainly for the CD/DVD printing capabilities. This is by far the worst that I have used. The 810 has a removable tray for the CD/DVD. This takes alot of steps just to get ready to print, the 800 was one button ready The 810's Screen menu does not allow for the automatic opening of the installed software like Epson Scan, you have to jump through hoops to get everything running.
For the first time I had to contact Tech Support just to get the printer to recognize my computer. I followed the software to the letter but the installation did its own thing without asking and to find out what had happened I had to contact Tech Support to get it resolved. The scan bed is backwards from all my other printers. The top of the page is on the right of the printer opposite of the scan head which is backwards to all other scanners.
Overall I'm quite disappointed with the product and since I have 30 days to return it I just may.

This is a nifty printer. It's nice and small so it doesn't take up space in my room. The set up was nice and easy. I love how the registration filled out the serial number for me. I love the wifi printing. This is going to help me a lot. Nice and compact and easy. My type of office tool.

The easy to use the directions are for cartridge replacement on the screen when replacement is need are very handy. I like the compact design of the 810.
Its great to have the handbook of the unit as a ICON.

I like the compactness of this printer. I printed a picture I had done before on my Artisan 835 and this 810 is even sharper and colors more vibrant. I think I will keep it!!

The printer drinks ink and the cartridges are hard to replace properly.

Great printer, small footprint. Photo system does not work well. Ink runs out quickly.
