First Epson Printer

I must say I am quite impressed with this printer. I had been a consistent user and purchaser of a competitor's brand and not really familiar with Epson printers in a home use setting. I have been very happy with the quality of the printouts and very surprised and impressed with the quality of the photos. I purchased the Epson based on recommendations from Consumer Reports and the store clerk. I would recommend an Epson to anyone who is looking for a printer.

Not worth the money

I have always bought and used Epson printers. Easy to get running and easy to use, hard to break. However, this XP 800 I bought has so far proven impossible to set up and use. Doesn't recognize the USB connection, can't set up the wireless. Its been uselesss so far. I'm not done trying yet but this thing may get returned or go to the dump. Would love to use this product before rating it but not a chance of that happening yet. Maybe use it later, maybe never will happen.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I just finished setting the printer up. It took a little of figuring out and a update with some software but everything appears to be working just fine. Still have to learn my way around the new settings and get used to it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I've only had the new 810 for a couple of days, but it's working great and love it. One thing . . . wanted to use up my 273 (expensive!) ink cartridges from my old printer, but this one asks for 273-1. Drat! Any way to work around this and use the 273s? They-re all nearly full and hate to waste them AND the $$$ involved!

I had another Epson that died after several years (plugged ink line). This 810 appears to be super.
My reservations are about setting up the fax and sending .jpgs' to print wirelessly. Instructions aren't too clear.
