A Little Awkward
on November 2, 2013

It takes awhile to find all the bits and pieces that pull out, draws, etc… and to remove the packing tape. Once found it is pretty easy to work the printer and it does everything I would want at this price. I would like a paper manual. One thing, the lower paper tray is Awkward to insert - perhaps this will come with time. - RCBen

Best All In One Printer
on November 11, 2013

Studied and compared the major printer brands. Needed an All-In-One printer that would be easy to manage and which could print high quality pictures and text. I installed it on my secure router and it is being used within my local network by multiple people. The installation instructions were adequate but not great. The quality of the printing is clear and precise. The pictures (using Epson Premium luster paper) are good enough to frame. The printer is being managed as a wireless device. No physical connections.

Don't buy

This printer worked perfectly until the ink ran out. Replaced the ink and could not get it to work. Cleaned print heads and followed troubleshooting messages until I had to purchase another box of ink cartridges. Installed new ink a 2nd time and now get error message 'can not recognize the following cartridge: M. Replaced that one - same message. Same message. Cant get it to work. Printer is now just a paper weight.

First Experience with Clogged Nozzels
on May 20, 2014

This took awhile to discover, after a number of tests our phone connection was broken. 2nd Tech went further with testing after hearing what the problem was and requested we change 2 cartridges; the machine has its own cleaning
process and all was working with the 3rd -black clogged nozzle again.
Both men were very good and really knew where to go, and very patient with a novice.
Thank You Very Much, Epson Techs.

Ink Eater

This machine absorbs ink literally. I have only had the printer for about 3 months and have had to replace the cartridges three times.
I did have to do a lot printing but I am sure if I still had my Artisan 810 I could have printed the same amount and only had to replace the cartridges once.
The only improvement I have seen is in the network connectivity but that is software not hardware.
Due to the over the top ink consumption and the less than stellar printing I find this printer a huge disappointment.

Unreliable

Prints beautifully when working which is a frustratingly brief period of time. Phone help is exceptional - sent 2 new printers to replace failed first one - each were worse then the original. The printer XP 810 should be withdrawn from the market.

Lack of documentation

So far the printer works fine however it Irk's me that a Printed user guide is no longer supplied with your products. I am not talking about the full blown 357 page guide. A basic how to manual is required! I like to have knowledge about any new product prior to installation. This is the third Epson product I have purchased in the last 12 years but the first to come without a basic manual. I would gladly pay extra to get a good guide.
