I'm pleased with this printer. It is a bit tougher to get up and running simply because it is wireless, and my first one. I normally don't have to read a manual to get one started but I had to in this case. I haven't had it long so haven't really tested the printing quality yet or consumption of ink, both big issues with printers. I have had many printers over the years, and have pretty much determined that HP's are the best, especially in those two areas. So far this model has not disappointed me.

HP continues to turn out great products! I have had a 700 HP printer that finally gave up the ghost. It was a great printer for any kind of picture or document. This new printerHP5530E has been easy to set up, has great features for the price and the picture quality is amazing! On my old printer on best quality the pictures were great, on this new printer the pictures are even better on normal printing!

Not for printing photos

The ad bragged about printing great photos. I didn't find that to be true. There are lines going through the prints and the photos and very grainy. I was disappointed. It does print borderless and that feature was a necessity for me so that is one of the reasons I bought it but I print a lot of photos and it doesn't seem to be working well for that purpose.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
