The good and the bad

I love how big this washer seems for being only 3.6 cubic feet. I can wash my king size comforters anytime without going to the laundromat. The controls are fun but hard to figure out as the manual doesn't explain much. The down side is compared to my old agitator washer, this washer leaves debris in the tub or transfers it to other articles or my dryer. Seems my old washer just washed it down the drain. I sometimes have to wash twice as the impellor does not seem to get clothes as clean as an agitator does.

Takes longer to do the wash and it is not always clean. Not sure if I would buy this appliance again.

Great features including "extra water & rinse"
on November 6, 2013

I love this washer. I researched many top load washers before buying this one. I could only find positive reviews on this washer and am glad I purchased it. It has many features but is still simple to operate. It is quiet, does a good job washing and spinning. It now takes less time to dry clothes. It senses the water level by the weight of the items. It has a feature that lets you add extra water to the load or an extra rinse. A lot of the new energy efficient washers do not have this feature. I noticed water level was a big complaint when I did my research. I have had the washer for a couple months now & couldn't be happier with it.

Out of balance too often
on March 7, 2014

This product had a great review from consumer reports, so I expected an exceptional product. The tub is huge, but I can rarely take advantage of this great feature because all of the garments in a load need to be of equal weight or the load registers "out of balance". There is a cute tune to tell me when the load finishes, but no audio to alert me to when the machine is out of balance. Many times I return to the machine, thinking that the load must be finished only to find that it isn't even close to being done because it is out of balance once again. In order to have the load stay in balance, I have to sort my laundry by weight as well, which means I am doing more loads of laundry each week.

Great capacity, liquid detergent users beware!
on June 3, 2014

The WT1001CW has a great capacity and is very quiet. Even when draining its very quiet. And absolutely no vibration on the second floor. If you must put your washer near living areas you should consider this model. The tub is fairly deep which may be an issue for some people but it is not an issue for me.
One feature that is disappointing is the detergent dispenser. There is no liquid detergent insert in the detergent drawer. So, if you wish to use the 'Delay Wash' feature then you'll need to use powdered detergent or 'pods'. Otherwise, the liquid detergent will run out of the drawer (even in minute amounts) and remain on the laundry until the cycle starts. Oddly, it does have an insert for liquid fabric softener in detergent drawer.
Overall, its a good alternative to a front load HE machine.

Poor cleaning
on August 21, 2014

This is the worst washer I have ever owned...I am so sorry I spent the money on it. This washer does not get clothes clean and it does horribly on blankets. They come out smelling as bad as when they went in. And I am using Tide HE and Downy. Worst investment ever!!

doesn't clean clothing
on August 19, 2015

This washer transfers dirt from one article to another, often leaves parts of the clothing dry throughout the entire wash cycle, and barely agitates the laundry. Sometimes the simplest soil is not removed and I am forced to hand wash laundry AFTER it has gone through the machine. Very disappointing. I wish someone from LG would contact me and help me resolve my issues with this machine!

Highly recommend...

This is the first "quiet" washer I have ever owned. I also had to learn to wait to do laundry until I have a full load.
Each load is about a load and a half in my other machine. Also the extra fast spin cycle means less time in the dryer for towels and jeans.
This is my first LG washer and I am completely satisfied.
