Read the Manual Before Using

This is a modern high efficiency (HE) washer that uses very little water. It takes some getting used to if you are replacing a non HE machine with this model. Your loads will run longer (about one hour per load) but clothes come out almost dry due to the high spin rate. The machine has a timer that tells you how many minutes are left in the cycle. The extra energy used due to longer wash cycles is offset by shorter cycles in the dryer.
Read the manual. You clean the tub once month to prevent mold build up but you don't have buy expensive tub cleaning products. Just pour a cup of bleach into the dispenser and press tub clean. The wash cycle is quiet.
Finally, since top loaders spin horizontally instead of vertically you will experience vibration (but not noise) during spin cycles . As long as your floor is not slick and the machine is leveled you should be fine. We chose this machine over a front loader because the seals on some front loaders are prone to leak over time. Top loaders use more water than front loaders but, in our opinion, extra water use is worth not having to think about leakage.

modern mashine that cleans well

This washing machine does take time to understand but certainly cleans the clothes with less water and detergent.
The cycles are longer than our old Kenmore washer.
The mashine is quiet.
Pros: Performance, Style/Design, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality

This machine is absolutely horrible. When it fills with water, even when using the Water Plus feature, the water doesn't actually immerse all the clothes in the water. It doesn't even get some of the clothes wet! After washing a load, some clothes are completely dry. We attached a garden hose to the washtub in the laundry room and have to fill the machine manually with water before running the load. I'm not making this up. This is not what we had in mind when we bought the "new" washing machine technology. LG should not sell such a horrible piece of equipment. This is our first LG product. This might be our last LG product.

Discontinued for a reason

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased almost exactly 3 years ago. During that time neither the bleach or detergent release system worked correctly so really no use in putting the product in specified areas and now am getting the infamous OE error code which based on other reviews means I am most likely in for a nightmare of repairs or buying a replacement after 3 years. LG you really need to stand behind your products as there must be a reason you discontinued the product already.

I really wanted to like this washer, but it's time to get rid of it after 4yrs of disappointment.
This washer was well reviewed on Consumer Reports, and I'm sure it's a reliable machine that's durable. It's been reliable for the 4yrs we've owned it, but it simply does NOT get clothes clean and leaves residue and/or stains on clothes, especially dark clothing. Whites do not get clean and end up gungy and grey. Sheets never seem to be clean. LG totally missed the boat on providing HE without sacrificing cleanliness, something we use this appliance for.....in the first place.... It seems like it was their beta model for HE. Agree with all the other reviewers on it just not cleaning clothes properly. Can't tell you how many times I've started to put on my black jeans only to find white stains all over them. I can only assume it's soap that was never washed out. Also can't count how many times my wife has complained about stains/residue and how LONG it takes to do a load. I know it's discontinued, but wanted to post this so folks don't buy a used one or refurbished one without knowing the full story on it. It could be a decent washer for a college student who has time to leave a load going for hours and can get by with slightly clean clothes??? Otherwise pass...

Wanted to Love it but isn’t possible

I wanted to love this washer. It looks really good. But it’s the worst washer I’ve ever owned. It does not get clothes clean no matter what cycle - water - detergent - or voodoo you do. Purchased from Lowe’s and have had 4 years. Now water flows freely out of the bottom of the washer flooding the laundry room so would need repair. Even though the motor has a 10 year warranty I’d rather see it on its way to a scrap metal or recycling center and let it die. I have also never left a negative review for a product of any kind but this appliance unfortunately deserved the time. This washer should have never been sold. I simply cannot afford to purchase another LG appliance that does not do what it is supposed to do that I will be stuck with.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Looks small does a lot!

We lost our home in a forest fire so I was just going to buy a small washer for the rental until our home was rebuilt. I seen this one and loving LG products had to check it out. Loved it, thought I would buy it and then once our home was rebuilt put it down in the basement for the girls and buy a bigger one....Nope! I love this washer. Love the many cycles, vented lid when not in use (airs it out, great when you have used hot water), musical tune when finished and size. So glad I
