Does a fine job.

It took some getting used to all the features and buttons, but I would certainly recommend this washing machine. It gets my clothes very clean, with little detegent. The drum is huge, great for large items, but a little tricky if you're a short person. You have many options for size of load, weight, spin, length of wash, etc, which is energy saving. Be sure to read the book before you jump in and you will not have any trouble. It is very quiet and I love the little tune it plays when your laundry is done.
Pros: Performance, easy to use, Features/Settings, Quality, read the book.

UE Unbalanced Error is a chronic problem
on December 1, 2014

We loved this washer for the first few months we had it. Now it's basically unusable due to the Unbalanced Errors that simply will not go away. It's almost impossible to complete a cycle. This is a known issue. Be sure to ready other, less biased reviews on places like Amazon. When there are more negative reviews than positive on a 3rd party site then there's a serious problem. LG needs to do the right thing and either fix this problem or give full refunds to those customers who purchased this model. Do not purchase this product.
Pros: Style/Design
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Machine has no soak cycle, soap and bleach dispensers leak before they are supposed to release resulting in bleach damaging clothes.
Pros: quiet

Great washing machine
on January 22, 2015

I originally bought this machine because I live in an old rehabbed row home with narrow stairs to the basement and this model fit. However, I was surprised on how great it washes clothes. My previous machine was a front loading machine which I was not impressed with. This machine washes my clothes great even when I don't use the extra water option. It's a shame they are discontinuing it. There's a lot of people in my neighborhood struggling to find washing machines that can fit down their stairs.
Pros: Performance, easy to use, Quality

Washer lacking
on February 22, 2015

Since this was my first Energy Efficient washer, I decided that I needed it to give it a long trial period in order to get use to it. I found that the "normal" cycle is only good for small loads. The load I would put in it consisted of a towel, set of micro fiber bed sheets, three light cotton short sleeve shirts and a pair of jeans. I put a small dish towel on the top Checking throughout the cycles, I noticed that the dishtowel barely got wet and did not get clean. I have tried other loads and it seems that if I do ONLY a light small load, does the "normal" cycle work decently. The only two cycles that seem to do the job adequately are "Heavy" and "Bulky". If I had to purchase all over again, I would not have chosen this machine.
Pros: Performance, Features/Settings, Quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nothing but a bad experience...

I bought this washer a little over a year ago and chose not to purchase the extended warranty! What a MISTAKE!!! Every single time I do a load of white laundry, something comes out more stained than when it went in. Oftentimes it happens to be one of my favorite pair of white pants. I have had to take them to my parents house and bleach them in order to get the stains out that were not there when I put them in my washer! It looks like I tossed them in with a load of mud! This happens to my dark clothes too and I have had to redo several loads! My fiancées work clothes get washed in this machine but they are by no means that bad, and again, my parents washer (not the same brand) handle them just fine! I have done tub clean cycles after each load and nothing has solved my problem! It is not my detergent either, as I have tried a few different brands!! I am so incredibly disappointed in this washer! And to think, I waited three years to get our own!! I would rather be toting myself back and forth to the laundromat again than ruin all my good clothes!!!

Leaves residue on favorite clothes
on March 13, 2017
Posted by: lisa71
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this machine couple of years ago now. It has consistently left residue on my dark, thick woven cotton. I have taken to rising out all of my favorite clothes or trying to time the rinse before the spin to pull items out. It has been a total pain.

So unhappy

Item was in Consumer Reports, but has been terrible from the get go. The water doesn’t rise above the clothes. The clothes don’t move freely under the water. I have to do a whole separate load with no soap if I’m washing athletic wear because the soap does not come out. White pants and ivory pants have been damaged. Sometimes items come out dirtier than when they went in.
And now, four years in, it’s not draining. I’m reading reviews on getting it fixed and with labor, I’m looking at spending at least $300. At least it’s a good reason to finally get rid of it!
Bottom line, I’ve never been more dissatisfied with an appliance purchase.
And I’ve tried everything including adding water. It often drains the water before I can turn it on. Good riddance!
