Exciting, Responsive Cooking, Thanks to Frigidaire

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Knowing we would need to replace our 16 year old freestanding kitchen stove eventually, I have been looking into induction models for the past 6-8 months. This Frigidaire Gallery model, FGIF3061NF, consistently gets top ratings from numerous on-line sites and customers. Having owned several Frigidaire appliances over the
past 40 years, we are familiar with their value, performance and USA design and assembly. Three weeks ago,we purchased this stove through a local retailer, long-standing, with an excellent service and repair department. Buying a major appliance with a fairly new technology, induction, we wished to have a reputable, easily accessible dealer. Their salesman was very familiar with the Frigidaire Gallery, having attended company training within the past year. Our buying experience last month was seamless and satisfactory from the sale to the friendly, capable delivery staff.

Power Boost is wonderfully fast, producing a rolling boil within a few minutes, even at our over a mile altitude, but shutting down to a simmer in seconds. Slow cooking becomes delightful without having to be concerned about burning sauces or a roux just as searing meat at high temps is effortless. Induction is just shear magic compared to radiant electric cooking.
Induction is very safe; burners will shut-off automatically if your magnetic pan is removed, they will not heat unless appropriate cookware is sensed. Paper cannot be burned; perfect to spread paper towels on the cooktop surface, and even under the skillet, while frying to contain grease. As only the cookware becomes hot, the glass top cools quickly, allowing for easy spill cleanup, no more burned-on food. I use a dedicated, non-abrasive sponge and Weiman Glasstop Cleaner.
Frigidaire's stainless steel exterior is perfect, finger-prints wiped off with a dry towel. Could not be easier.

My stainless-steel 3 ply 48 year old cookware performs perfectly with induction technology, as well as our old, family cast-iron and carbon-steel pieces. Very nice to be able to use them all once again.
The oven is large, well-lit; we like the effortless rack system. Baking temperatures seem to be spot-on with fast heating times producing perfect pastry results. Convection roasting and broiling works as it should with intuitive controls.
Cooking bacon did require experimenting to produce results we wished--plan on cooking it slowly at level 3-3.5 only, otherwise you will have an over-dark piece with un-rendered fat.
Overall, we could not be happier with induction cooking on the Frigidaire Gallery stove; truly a pleasure. Thank you.

Outstanding Range

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This range has superb quality. The control console is intuitive and easy to use. There are so many nice features. I love the rapid boil feature. Spaghetti and mac & cheese are so much faster now. As others state, the heat is similar to gas. The baking is excellent and the broiler works fine. I'm surprised sometimes how nice the baking is. Also, it's a beautiful range. I'm so glad my old one broke down. I did a lot of research before buying--I definitely recommend this range.

Two years and bang

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We loved this range for the first two years, then it just started throwing error codes for oven, burners, and just about every thing else in between. They are having to replace the electronics one at a time, been without a range for a month now. Not very impressed.

Not Like the Old Days

I loved this stove and now I have a code F11. The part costs almost as much as a new one with the service call. I have it 3 years now. Old appliances would work until they became so out of style, you wanted a new one. 20 + years.

LYounie, I am saddened to hear of your range giving you the F11 error code. Please interrupt power to your range at the breaker box for at least one full minute and then reapply the power. Liked It Before It Broke

Oven bakes well and I love the induction cook-top. However, after fewer than 2 years of operation, it broke with an F1 error code. I tried cutting power to the range for several hours and then turned it back on, no luck, still broken. I now have a hefty repair bill coming my way to replace the oven's electronic control board. Never again.

The best range you can buy

Great temperature control and sense the pan heats instead of the stove top you NEVER have food crusted on the stove top. It made to much noise when we got it but they got service techs on site within a week to replace all the noisy parts and now you can;t hear it. A big surprise was on convection bake it only uses 500 wats of energy. All in all the best range we have seen. The power boil feature will bring 2 qts of water from cold to boil in 3 min. Wow!

Love this Amazing Induction Range!!!

I had been considering buying an induction range for the last few years but was waiting for the price to become more affordable. I was also reading reviews to find the perfect induction range that also had convection features and a storage drawer. Most ranges have a warming drawer with an element that reduces the amount of storage space available for pans. I was quite surprised that the storage drawer was large enough to hold the majority of my pots and pans. The induction feature is absolutely amazing! I rarely use my microwave now since the stove top can heat so quickly. Water boils in less than a minute which makes managing a large dinner extremely easy. I had Easter dinner at my house and was able to make last minute pasta, sauces, and steamed veggies that I would have never attempted to make just minutes before serving the dinner. The induction elements are controlled with knobs rather than a touch pad which allows the user much better control over regulating the desired temperature. The touch controls for the oven were self-explanatory and were very easy to navigate. The oven bakes very evenly whether using convection or regular bake. Meats brown evenly and are moist and tender. Baked goods such as cakes, breads and muffins are pure perfection! I never knew what I was missing until I purchased this range! Although I have cooked for years, this range has opened up a whole new world of pleasurable cooking!
