I got one for Christmas and it would not vacuum seal. Returned it and ordered the same model and got the same results. I returned it and opted to purchase a different brand which works great.

I'm not impressed with this item. I am having trouble with the vac.and seal . I do not know why the bags do not seal after the bags are vacuumed. I am on the verge of returning this product.

I enjoy this model so much more than the automatic start model Foodsaver. It is easy to use and get started. I use the "seal" function a lot and it is more convenient on this model. On the automatic model, almost 2 inches of bag material was wasted, as I had to insert is so far into the machine to trigger the unit to start to seal or vacuum. I can seal this one right along the edge of a bag. Good replacement for a unit with more "bells and whistles", that I bought at Christmas, but never really enjoyed.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Simple design but very efficient

I have used many more expensive Foodsavers over the years and found that this model is my favorite. It is a simple design and very efficient. It is smaller than some of the others for those with space issues. I've washed the gaskets, scrub it down after every use and because of this it still looks and performs like new after five-plus years.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Works good for about 2 years

This is the second foodsaver I have owned, I like the product but the first one lasted 5 years this recent one only lasted 2 years. We use it alot so it is frustrating that it does not last.

This FoodSaver does the job.

I purchased model #V2244 to replace an older model. I preferred the older one and wish I could have gotten the replacement part for it that I needed. On this model you have to put in an extra 3" of the bag into the machine in order to seal it so you go through a roll of bags more quickly. It doesn't always seal on the first attempt either. I'm not as happy with this model as the older one but I still would recommend FoodSaver machines to everyone. They do keep foods fresher longer. It works great for sealing blocks of cheese which otherwise would need to be used up within 2 weeks of opening the package. I mainly use mine to freeze vegetables & herbs from the garden and it does the job I want it to. No freezer burn and very little buildup of ice crystals. I received my first FoodSaver as a gift and now I can't live without one.
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is a great product. I use it often. I found that you can cut a corner out of the frozen bag, take what you want out of it to and reseal it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

i got this v2244 model for christmas i used it in december using up th small roll of bags that came with it during dec. and january. i just got more bags for it as the store has been out everytime i have been there untill this month (april) now mind you i have only had it 4 months and when i tried using it this weekend it sealed 4 bags and i let it rest so as to not overheat it. i went back an hour later to bag some more and it bagged one good, the second one sealed but only removed half the air. then it woulndnt do anymore. my lord what good is this machine ...none to me!!!!
