Great Product

The product arrived intact in the box. The product itself looks nice and has the basic features you need to perform the tasks it is designed to do. I have owned Food Savers machines in the past and like them very much.
However - when I used this Food Saver machine per the instructions; on numerous attempts with the supplied bags the product was unable to evacuate the air from the bag and seal. It just kept attempting to evacuate the air from the bag for numerous minutes without any success. I continued to try several more times with new bags without luck.
Out of frustration after numerous attempts on my next attempt I physically applied downward pressure on the flip cover as it was evacuating the air and this time it worked as designed. I had to apply pressure every time in order to get it to evacuate the air from the bag.
The device needs to be configured to apply more downward pressure to create the seal needed when the lever moved into "operate" position.
I believe this product when functioning properly is a great product and will save money in the long run.
I received the product for free in exchange for my review.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great product for vacuum sealing! So far we have used it mostly on jars using the regular-mouth accessory and the accessory hose, and it works like a charm!
*Make sure you take out the cardboard pieces that are inside of the device before you use it (They're easy to overlook). The vacuum won't work until you take these cardboard pieces out.*

My FoodSaver is as important as my fridge. For those folks who live alone, the FoodSaver and its accessories make a hand in glove combo with a freezer and refrigerator. Pays for its self by reducing spoilage and extending life for leftovers. Great for storing bulk items such as rice, grits, flour,etc. Have been using the product for years and will continue while giving it to family members as well. The new accessory for use with both bags and canisters is genius, even being attached to the marvelous main unit. My great grandmother appreciated the invention of sliced bread. My great grandchildren will appreciate equally the FoodSaver.

I can't say enough good things about this vacuum sealer. It is economical and does everything I need it to--in addition to the vacuum seal bags, it also seals jars, zip bags, and even chip bags from the store. I love that it stores up on end to save counter space, yet can be out for easy access. And the black color matches my black appliances. Vacuum sealing is helping me save money--keeping my food fresh longer means LESS WASTE!! If you want a great vacuum sealer without spending hundreds, this is the model for you!

Love this model; it is like our old white Food saver vacuum sealer that we have been using for years! We love that it doesn't have the storage for the rolls as we primarily use the pre-made bags. We also love that we can make a smaller seal with this model than others our friends and family have tried. Easy to use with the lever. It might be a little slower but then it does such a good job, who minds waiting a little! We use our Food Saver for all our garden produce and the processing of our own meat. Thanks for bringing a simple, fantastic model back!

New replacemt unit

This new FM2100 replaced an older unit I had for over 15 years.
The new unit is easier to work with, love the built-in cutter, and the strength of its pump!
If it last as long as my old unit, it will be a perfect investment!!

Purchased 2 ...one as gift ....tried the one I was keeping ...did not vacuum properly after many many attempts...both returned ..hope I will have a better experience obtaining my credits ??
