My new foodSaver Vs old one

I have been using a food saver for years. When my 10 plus year old one died I need a new one. I love the improvements like the fact that you can seal the end without the vac running. The new wider heat strip is great. this is a must have if you buy bulk food on sale and freeze. I have never had anything freezer burn or collect ice on it in the freezer. This time I'm not going to wait for mine to die before I look for one with new improvements.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product will save you money in no time at all. Buy bulk and package it for a meal or to open and reseal multiple times. Really pulls a great vacuum.This unit is small and does not take up a lot of space convenient and very easy to use. I use it virtually every day. Keep foods twice as long as it would it not packaged his way. You know the ice crystals you get once a bag of frozen food is opened and put back into the freezer not with the foodsaver so hash browns,fries and vegetables etc. all can be partially used and keep for the next meal with out being freezer burned. I could go on for a long time about all the uses but once you use it you will quickly come up with your own. Not only do you save in bulk but you save in waste. You can package all kinds of stuff. I have my own garden and package those foods as well for later. Well enough said I think you get the idea that I love my food saver. Yes I got it free for a trial and evaluation and I will not give it back or live without it. This I can take to the bank. I would recommend to anyone whether a large family or just you savings are there. There is a built in hand sealer that is awesome as well for sealing containers and the uses just go on. FOODSAVER THANKYOU and you will to.

A great little sealer that is the total package

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm a huge fan of vacuum sealers in general, and I honestly don't understand how a household can function without one! Nothing beats finding meat marked down, freezing it, and then "shopping" from your freezer later! I have tried a few brands, and Food Saver beats them all. This sealer has everything you need in a small, attractive package. The black color is so much better than white - I always think white appliances look cheap. This one fits pretty much anywhere you want to stuff it and it doesn't weigh much at all. It has a drip tray, which is ESSENTIAL when freezing chicken - and don't let anyone tell you different! You can see, as it's sucking the air out, all the chicken moisture run up the top of the bag. I don't even want to think about where that stuff would go without the tray. This sealer also has an accessory port. While I'm not a huge fan of the deli containers I bought to go with it (darn things lose their seal so easily) I am a HUGE fan of the mason jar sealer! My pantry is an ocean of mason jars. No joke, I have marshmallows that are like six months old in there, pop the seal and they are good as new. When I make chili or chicken soup, I wait til it cools and vacuum seal two or three bags worth, they go right into the freezer and the rest gets eaten right away. Can't beat that! Great Quality

This is a great little unit. It will fit on your counter top with no trouble. I use ours on the kitchen table for more room. This is our 2nd. Vacuum Sealer. The 1st one was the 2400 Food Saver. Both have the same locking handle style. All that is needed for easy locking is to press down slightly on the top with your left hand, at the same time as you lock the handle in place. I also press down slightly on the top when I release the handle. I place two cutting boards in front of ours, that measure an inch thick total. This puts your bags closer to the same high as the seal strip. It makes it easier to get a good seal on your bags. It comes with a peace of cardboard in the Drip Tray. Leave this in when not in use. It will help the seals to last longer. The 2200 does a great job at a small price. Hope this helps.

The reason I ordered the food saver is because I am single and I can buy the family packs of meets divided up and vacuum seal it. And it will last a long time, I am still finding meat and chicken that I had put in Ziploc bags and of course some of it is damage from freezer burn, because you cannot get all the moisture out. And to be honest, a lot of it. I don't remember buying. Food saver does such a good job of removing the air that there almost as hard as a rock and removing all the air makes items smaller packages so they store in the freezer better, which gives you more room. And the side benefit is, Give it time and it will evacuate all the air out of the Ziploc bag. Of course you cannot heat seal it, but you can zip it shut for storing your leftovers in the refrigerator for your next meal.

The product has great features but I cannot seal without oxygen. I have a great deal of trouble sealing out the air even when I try multiple times.

I hate to hear that you're having trouble vacuum sealing with your FoodSaver. Usually, when there is air left in the bag, it is due to excess moisture when vacuum sealing. When vacuum sealing moist or juicy foods, we recommend pre-freezing the food for 1-2 hours. This will lock in the moisture and ensure a good vacuum and seal. This product is well worth the money

I have had 3 other vacuum sealers in less then 2 years. 2 of which were Ziploc Brand (DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY). They all quit working within 2 mos. I took a deep breath and tried the FoodSaver and I am so glad I decided to try again. The ease of use, the seal stays sealed, easy to clean, and not 1 single problem. Instructions were very clear and understandable on how to seal with more or less vacuum. I love it, and would recommend to anyone looking to purchase. I just purchased 2 more as Christmas gifts. Thank you FoodSaver!!
