I Don't Know How I Watched TV Without This!

I recently purchased the Roku 2 to upgrade from my older Roku XDS. I love the new interface and it is definitely much zippier than the older model. But improvements aside, I don't know I ever lived without my Roku. I have completely cut my cable and haven't looked back -- in fact, I watch my Roku over my regular tv channels (I have a digital tuner) 9 times out of 10. The number of channels available is truly astounding (most of which are free) and I don't miss cable at all. I can't recommend this product highly enough! You will not be disappointed. Roku is a great, well-made product, at a great price!

Roku 2 XS is a good player

The Roku 2 XS has held up good for me for the last 6 months. I like the connection types because it works well with my older TV. It has composite hookups and I use mine hooked up directly with an Ethernet cable to my router to improve speed over wireless. The ISP where I'm located at is not the greatest so the fact that many companies such as Amazon and Netflix do a good job of buffering is a big plus! I use plenty of free channels as well such as crackle , vevo,history, A&E, ADC, TBN,pop flix,ark discovery, animal planet,go indie tv,pbs etc. Redbox and other companies need to start making the movies available at the same price they are at the box for rentals and if they don't a competitor will realize the opportunity and they will. Many companies have not caught on yet that roku is the way things are going and until they do the player cant live up to it's full potential! I liked it well enough to buy them for 2 members of my family as gifts (goodbye cable bills)!

Roku 2, love it.. (own 3 Roku's) I had Time Warner and was dying to drop it.. felt like I was chained by the ankles with cable and here comes ROKU to the rescue, by by Time warner and hello Freedome..... with ROKU the apps just keep coming and the whole media experience is just awesome..... Best decision I ever made.. Thank you Roku!

I have had previous Rokus but really enjoy the headphone jacka nd the faster speed of the Roku 2. Very happy with the upgrade.

The best set top box out there!

Being the kind of a gadget junkie I am, I was thrilled a few tears ago when I bought my first Roku, a Netgear branded Roku 1. Since then I have purchased five more Rokus as gifts and one more for myself.
The Roku 1 still works and gets used heavily. The Plex media app adds even more channels including you tube but you must use your computer Windows/Linux/Mac as a server which is also great because you can add all of your own content stored on your computer and Plex will automatically convert your media files to run on the Roku.
Everyone I bought one for raves about how great this little box is. There are numerous wifi remote control apps for phones and tablets which have made the Roku a real joy to use and find content to play. Have not tried the Roku 3 yet but comparing my original to the Roku 2 I am very confident you have made a great product even better.

Bought it on Cyber-Monday at $20 off (i.e., for $59). Shipping was free and it arrived within 3 business days all the way to Hawaii, I was impressed. Easy, intuitive set-up, and the on-screen interface is user-friendly and aesthetically appealing. Downsides are there is no YouTube connectivity, the internet connection is strictly wireless (no Ethernet jack, like the Roku 3) and the private channels were completely devoid of anything interesting. Overall, a really nice product for the $$.
