I would of given Roku a five star rating if they have more closed caption especially with the older movies and shows. When you first start using your Roku 1 alot of the choices needed me to signup on their website before I could use the channel. Although the direction are easy to follow with Roku 1 they are sometimes not on the websites. The few time I was confuse about lining my smart tv with the websites Roku 1 customer service help me thur it. That the reason I gave setup and use of the product to get the channels setup a three star.

I bought a Roku years ago , when they first appeared, that little unit worked just fine ...their newer products offered more features so i bought the Roku 1
it has worked great, and provided the feature that i wanted now i have single click to Netflix or Amazon Prime when you have that anyone can ''cut the cable''

Only get a fraction of the movies I get on Roku 2

I have Roku 1 in my bedroom. It gets only a fraction of the movies from my Roku 2, in the living room. Not terribly happy with it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very pleased indeed, I bought one a month ago and I got what I was looking for, at the sugestion of a friend. Iam still learning and will buy some more for all my TV's.
One bad side that you need to be aware is the installation. It needs to be more explicit.
More user friendly. It took me a couple of days and many trys to figure out how to install it. I hope that what I learned on my first TV will help me to install my other three ROKUS at home.

Great Value for the Money

Good price. Slower than the newer models (understandably), but waiting additional seconds to load is not an issue. Does the job. Nice to be able to have this second unit in another room.

I bought this so we could watch more shows because we are on an antennae. Not only are there lots of free programs we enjoy, but there are also free movies also. There are hundreds of programming that you can choose from.
