The special edition backs out on its own. When searching the titles it keeps going when you let off the remote and have to restart it. Apps don't always respond.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've had my Roku 1 for a couple weeks and my daughter has a Roku streaming stick. Other than some of the graphics they are equally easy to use and navigate. Even with my LG 3D smart TV, I find using my Roku to be much easier to find the shows/movies I want to watch.
