Almost daily use for years

Our Roku (the special red Angry Birds version) has been an excellent, reliable device for us for over two years, working from an ethernet connection. It provides a fine picture for our 51" TV. My only complaint is that it regularly has to restart at random intervals. We can rarely watch a full movie without one restart, but that's been more recent. I have recommended the Roku to many people and continue to do so.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I own two Roku1s and have been very happy with them, they really have helped me
keep my cable bills low and the content is just fantastic, with more channels being added all the time. When I had one fail (it got very hot on the underside and couldn't find any wireless networks) All I did was chat with technical support on the Roku website and it was determined that my Roku had a hardware failure, all I had to do was send them the bad Roku and they sent me a replacement unit overnight after they had received the old one. The customer service is simply above my expectations. I recommend Roku to anyone wanting a great streaming player!

We've had our Roku for a year and a half, with heavy daily use for the past year since we cut cable. It works perfectly well. One thing I would love is if you could program the shortcut buttons, as the presets assume that you have subscriptions to certain services, none of which we subscribe to.

Under delivered

Bought this to use Plex and my Itunes playlist. Paid for the plex app and all of my itunes songs would only play 10 seconds and go to the next song. Now get a new software download and Itunes won't work at all now. Dissappointed!

Well, as with all things electronic or computer related, this product is not "plug and play!" After much trial, I got it to work...for two weeks. After that, it would not recognize the local network or internet connection or anything at all. Being that it is summertime, I have not had time to try and get it working again. I have read a lot of troubleshooting things about this product and I fit most of the troubles with no solutions.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My son from California introduced me to Roku. I have had mine for several months now. I love, love, love it. I have recommended it to friends and they have got it, too.

Best gift ever!

I was given my Roku 1 as a gift. At the time, I don't normally watch a lot of TV, couldn't find many shows I had an interest in, and had heard of Roku but wasn't sure what it was. Hookup was very simple and I'm now hooked on Roku! Now, I very seldom watch regular TV and can't wait to get home from work so I can watch another episode of my favorite shows. My son bought it for me as a gift thinking I may watch it once in a while. I can't even imagine TV without my Roku. I absolutely love it! Best gift ever!
