We have a Smart TV and and older TV. Netflix recommended the Roku. We are in social security only and my husband being homebound, watching OLD WESTERN movies only especially with John Wayne. We were told that Netflix had "thousands of old western movies" and recommended the ROKU so that my husband can watch them when he is in his Hospital Bed in the Older TV.

Good features but having trouble

I received this a month ago. It is easy to use, but the screen keeps telling me the show stopped running and try again. Sometimes I give up trying to watch.

I wanted a 2nd device for another tv I own My 1st was the Apple device and it did not have Amazon on it Roku isso superior in the apps it has I am overjoyed! The remote is also a decent size unlike Apple's which I onstantle lost and had to replace It is easy to use and carries Sling an app that gives you cable channels at a decent price!

I would rate higher but Hulu is always buffering to the point were I can't even enjoy watching tv! Then some of the free tv/movie apps on the device doesn't even play! But overall I really like the device just need better streaming!

Low cost for low tech TVs!

Inexpensive option for a TV that doesn't have HDMI ports on it. Really one of the only ones I've found that can hook up with just the yellow, red, & white connections. Also using the same log in as my roku 3 is nice for apps syncing to both devices. Software is a bit slow and laggy compared to the roku 3 and wifi isn't as strong and fast. If you have the HDMI connection on your TV the roku 3 is a much better device.
