This Roku has both HMDI & RCA output options, allowing connection to most all televisions.

Not what I thought

I am disappointed in the Roku 1 that I bought. I thought there were many more free channels and it turns out there is a very small selection of free channels that really do not interest me. So it turns out that I have to purchase any channels that I would like to have. I ended up having to keep my Dish Network service which I was hoping having the Roku would allow me to cancel. This box just ended up being an expensive way to watch Netflix on my older TV. I could have bought some kind of converter that would have done the same. Really disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
