This is the 2nd ROku. I really enjoy the ease of use of the Navigation page and being to use one devise for all my streaming needs.

Lacking on free content

My wife and I got the Roku after my Laptop that was setup as an alternative to cable started to glitch out. Right off the bat, there is a limitation on channel apps, and no youtube, internet, and a few other features I miss from my laptop. Also, not having cable, I like channel apps and stuff like Netflix because of no commercial interruption. Now, we have a lot of comercials to contend with, at times the same commercial 3-5 times in a row, it gets tiresome... It is easy to use, but a big name like Roku I really expected a better use of internet speed and minimal buffering, and also expected more actual free TV as advertised, not just TV apps... Good, but not great.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We've had the Roku 1 device about two months. We love it! We've binge-watched shows we cannot get like Longmire and Foyle's War. We've barley tapped into all the Roku's goodies...too busy binge-watching, but it's amazing what we can access. Fairly easy to install once we elicited the help of our 30-something son in law.
I would recommend this to a friend!
