you still have to pay for movies

I had the impression that some movies were free or cheaper, but found out that it gets more expensive than DIRECTV. at least apple tv has the ability to see pictures and movies on t-v from your cell phone/ wish there was a way to record the movies/
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought it and I am happy that I did. Even with full access to satellite TV it can be boring at times. The Roku allows access to so many different divergent programming. No more boredom.

Entry level layer, but still tons of features

Overall better than my Sony streamer (which admittedly plays more formats and handles some web streams via Serviio better). Add Plex and Serviio to a PC on your network, and you'll have more to watch on this thing than you can handle. Next time I will buy a higher end model since the official Youtube plugin is really slow on this device, but Plex and My Video Buzz offer Youtube within the capabilities of this entry level model. (Rated average ease of use and setup since it's a little challenging to get Plex and private channels running, and I consider those essential to getting the most from the Roku.) I even got one for my elderly parents- my dad complained that his internet was down for a day, and all he had to watch was digital cable!

Glad I can watch most of my shows on my TV instead of the laptop now. Can't wait til I learn to work out the kinks in it LOL. Glad to have it!

The devise works just fine, however, had to quit using it because of the price of the service. Way too rich for my pocket book. Nothing wrong with the product. I just can't afford the monthly cost of using it.

Bought this to watch TV at the lake house, no cable available, over the air TV is iffy, but I do have 4G service. Stream from my cell hone. Works great.
