Cutting cable is a no-brainer with Roku

I was tired of paying too much for what I was watching on cable. Roku brings me all the shows I want, lets me stream Netflix and Hulu, and works with my older TV. I'm saving $90 a month and I don't miss cable at all!

I was curious about the Roku 1 since I already had Roku HDMI Stick. I like both but different reasons. The Stick is better since it goes to 1080 for flat screens that have that capability, But the Roku 1 works good for a 720 flat screen or the old type projection like 55 inch Mitsubishi color television.

Should run better even with a not high wifi signal

I bought this player to stream Netflix in my bedroom. I swear I only get to watch 10-20 minutes at a time then the player resets itself like it lost the wifi signal. It did this 10 times in an hour. I got so aggravated with it I'm tempted to take it back. My blu ray player in the adjoining room rarely has issues with the wifi. The Roku needs to be tweaked to run better even if the wifi signal is not full.

Easy to use

I've only used this about a month. It was easy to hook up and use. This only thing that I was disappointed in was that almost everything was pay for use or it required that I already had cable or satellite. I have neither. I expected this to take its place.

I was told by the clerk that the 1 has the same capabilities as the 3. Would rather have the 3.
