I purchased the Roku 1 about 2 months ago to be able to watch Netflix on an older model TV. It is working as expected and with no issues.

Purchased two of these Roku players about two months ago with the intent of dropping my cable provider. It is easy to set up and use and has lots of options. My only two complaints are: That the remote must be pointing directly at the Roku box to work. And the Roku does not come with an HDMI cable out of the box. So make sure you pick one up before you walk out of the store.

I really like the rokus on general. I don't have cable and don't care enough about television to warrant getting it. That being said, I love Roku and watch tv all the time on it. I am a binge watcher which cable would be bad for, but Roku is great for! I like to put on episodes of Seinfeld or other stuff I practically know by heart as background tv while I clean the house, etc. I also really like some of the new shows I've discovered on Netflix and HBO. Right now, I basically only use it for Hulu Netflix and HBO. I love the fact that Roku is a one time purchase and I only pay monthly for the streaming services I use. The one thing I don't like about the Roku 1 is that when watching Netflix, it doesn't continuously play episodes. My last Roku, don't know which one but it was for a HDTV type would continuously play and then after a certain amount of time say "are you still watching". It was much better for binge watching. Now I have to start each episode and it reminds me of how much time I have wasted watching tv!

It was bought for me by my son for mothers day and I truly love it. Wish there was more frees stations but I wouldn't trade for it.

I have had roku for about a month now and it is awesome! I'm able to watch my Netflix and other free movies that allow me to venture away from regular tv. Also, I only have cable in one room, so I can add channels that I have on cable, and watch my favorite shows without having to add an additional box for an additional monthly price. I mean, it's awesome.
I would recommend this to a friend!
