Needs an SD card slot for storing iitems.

Everything works great execpt there's no place for and SD card so I can rrcord movesi or shows.

disappointing choice for older AV systems

I purchased the Roku 1 to replace my original Roku which died after 4yrs of continuous & satisfied use. As I still have an older system, requiring AV hookups, this was my only choice; my disgust is passing & I'm adapting. The remote is barely functional, must be close, in a direct line & the buttons must be firmly held down; pick up the remote, squeeze hard & wait, play with the aim, get up & start crossing the 9' divide to the Roku box. It also seems to make decisions without my bidding, like exiting my show or jumping back to the start. I turn on my system & find it trying to load mystery channels. I can begin each day by deleting the channels loaded while I slept but they're back the next day. Is this a sales ploy? I would happily pay more for a better choice but there isn't one. Roku began its biz model by touting its functionality with older systems; this is no longer true.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

love all the channels and money saving but wish there was a way to have folders for the genres you add. (Like kids, news) etc for easier access to what we download and want to watch.

I love my roku!..I get over 2000 + channels to choose from! The roku 1 turned my older tube tv..into a smart tv! It works wonderfully with my slow internet!
BUT..the remotes do not function with the box!..there is no helpful service department that speaks english! But...no worries. .just download the roku app on your phone or tablet..and use that for a remote!
Love this new TV stuff!

I bought Roku 2 months ago & I never once experience any problems with it none so ever. It's so cool how this device does really does turns HD tv's into a smart t.v. without having to by an actual smart t.v. .

I bought my Roku in January and had no one to install it for me. I did it myself it's o easy just going by the instructions that came with it. I know I cannot watch my movies without my Roku. So small and yet so powerful.
