Limited functionality

Have not been very happy with the ROKU 1 since purchasing it. It's designed to be used pretty much with a TV, which gives it a limited life expectancy as TVs will get smarter and will incorporate ROKU like features in the sets themselves, and it's functionality with a monitor is limited. It has no internal volume control and it's hookups are limited, making it impossible to hook to the only TV I have (which is HD) unless I accept a (usually letterboxed) SD signal, as it's not an HDMI TV... So with only HDMI monitors and a TV the ROKU won't hook to, my ROKU experience has been passable at best, and it's been collecting dust for 3 months, because I am no longer to give up a monitor to pretend it's a TV.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought this back several months ago because I pay for the WWE network but don't always want to watch it on my computer. With my Roku box, I have the WWE Network channel on it and can watch it on the tv and I love it it. I also use it for Netflix streaming and for Pandora. I absolutely love my Roku box.

TV shows - great, movies - not so much

I love being able to get full episodes of current AND old tv shows. The movie selection leaves a lot to be desired as most of them are very, very old with few current movies.

Bought it several months ago. The free channels and movies are great, plus the instant access to movies makes it even better! I rate Roku and 10+!

Just what I was looking for

I was watching Netflix using my iPad. Then I found out that I can use Roku to watch Netflix, go on FB as well as many other channels I have for favorites. I got one at first, then went out and got one for a couple family members as well as reccmending to friends. I just LOVE my Roku
