I just wish it had more streaming apps. It would also be nice if it could stream from my phone without allcast.

I did some research and this was first of all my cheapest option which also got very good reviews throughout internet reviews. It has given me excellent picture quality every time. The Roku seems always ready to stream, whereas our Wii console we have used in another room seems to need reset often and can be time consuming. The Roku console as well is quite small and less obtrusive.

So I put buying the roku off. I thought I would have to run wire, the streaming would be slow, I would need other equipment, the quality would be poor, I would need to be a geek to set it up, but much to my surprise everything was the oppisite. It's affordable and simple and I only wish I had got this earlier. I highly recommend the roku.

Love this. Very convenient. Has all the channels that I love. Only con is sometimes it will log out of certain channels. Looking to update to the 2 or 3. But the 1 is great for any tv.

I actually have 2 Rokus and and I am so happy with them. Like a lot of people I turned off my cable. I also have a smart TV and have had trouble getting this to connect to Netflix or any other programs. Sometimes it works ok and other times I cannot connect. Especially on the weekends when I most want to use it.

The Roku 1 may not have quite as smooth an interface as its newer brother the Roku 3, but at a fraction of price AND with analog output, this can very cheaply breathe life to an older TV (or one where all the HDMI ports are used). It does of the basic roku functions great, and if you don't like the IR remote (that requires line off sight), you can always use the Roku smartphone app.
