It's easy to access. My kids love the fact that there is one button for Netflix which takes them directly to it without going through the list we have installed. It is very easy install new apps.

Better selection than cable with less cost. Initially thought it would take some getting used to. Now we wonder how we did without it. Should have done this sooner.

For Brit TV Lovers: Watching Acorn TV via the Roku

My old RCA curved screen CRT 46" TV died.....which was problematic, since the thing weighed about 280+ pounds! Bought a new flat screen, three bluRays and two Roku's. I am interested in British TV and wanted to be able to subscribe to Acorn TV, which is available for a few bucks a month on the Roku. Setting up the player could not have been easier, and I am now greatly enjoying watching a host of British TV shows in all genres, which would not have been possible earlier. I also do Netflix streaming via the Roku and of course there are many more movies and programs available there. Some of the other viewing possibilities via the Roku are: Vudu, Target, YouTube, Hulu Plus, and many others.
I would recommend this to a friend!

good easy functions

We've had the Roku over a year. The only one negative I have is I have Netflix, Amazon, and Huluplus subscriptions. When I log into my Netflix I don't have the option to choose genre's but I do in my Amazon and Huluplus. This is probably a Netflix issue. Maybe you can contact Netflix and mention this input. When I log into Netflix through my blurays I do have the option for genre's . That's why I believe this is probably a Netflx issue.

Very simple, very easy to use and accessible. If I had known the Roku1 doesn't support the current version of Netflix (in terms of the different user accounts, I mean; Netflix does work on this device), I absolutely would have gone with a 2 or 3.
