Awesome! so much fun!

Totally happy. Was worth it. I use it nearly everyday to stream Netflicks. Its like having cable, which I don't have in my bedroom where the player is. I used to watch Netflicks on my computer, but its so old it kept freezing when I used it for too long. I can't afford a new computer right now. So, by using my Roku player I am possibly saving my computer from dying. That way I can still surf the internet and check emails, while watching my roko/Netflicks. Even when not watching it, I love to be able to put it on and then go about doing other things. I need some noise to concentrate. Occasionally, like maybe 3 times in the last 6 months it couldn't find a signal but that could have been my internet connection. It was usually fine in a short period of time after that. Never use the premium services, as I am too poor— need to cut back somewhere. I got it as a Holiday present.
I think it took me 45 minutes to set everything up. But I remember having most of it done in a half and hour... It was just setting up an account online that took longer. I wonder how easy or hard it will be to re-set-up once I move again. But that won't be for at least a year from now. So, I can't say.

I wanted to be able to connect to "live" content. Not being able to do that makes it a waste of money and causes me to use up my allotted internet time too rapidly. Not being in the baby boomer fast lane, I don't have the recourses to make use of the Roku unit.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very easy to set up

I purchased this to make use of all my Amazon Prime benefits. It was easy to setup and I am loving it. I can stream movies and also listen to music. It was a good decision to buy this.

Good price, small size, mediocre remote reception

This is the third Roku we've bought (to replace our first one, which lasted three years; our second one is still working fine). The size is great, and the added channel buttons on the remote are nice, but it takes many tries before the Roku box "sees" the remote and whatever we're trying to do takes effect. The angle and the distance between the remote and the Roku box has to be just right or nothing happens. And by distance, I mean the remote is only 6 feet from the Roku box. We put a new battery in the remote too, but it didn't have any effect on the performance. Maybe our unit was a dud? Otherwise, the quality of the picture and the audio are great. We love our Roku boxes, but this particular model isn't nearly as good as our other (fancier) one. Wish we had better performance from this one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bought ROKU a few weeks ago and we love it Just wish CBS would allow their shows to be shown.

I'm not 'technically savvy' but I just had to get out from crazy cable bills, so I got a roku. it was super easy to get setup and running! I have access to 'enough' entertainment that I can't imagine ever going back to cable. I will say this... I miss live sports. but that's why god invented sports bars! ;-)
