I would give this 5 stars if only my sound bar didn't crackle when I try to watch a movie on it. It's no point in having it if I can't enjoy movies the way I want to.

Haven't had any issues with my ROKU devices. About the only thing I wish would come with them is a way to get local channels so I could rid myself of cable/satellite completely.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Inconsistent operation

This player has many bugs...I frequently have yo unplug it to reset it. I never have this problem with my original Roku on my other set.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I was skeptical. Mainly because everything else we tired we buggy and seemed to be thrown together at the last minute as an addon to a dvd player or other device. We bought this one and after a day of use we cancelled our cable tv and now just use the internet and roku. We are moving in a few days and this Roku is going in to our new bedroom and we are going to buy the newest roku for the front room..

I'm very happy with my Roku 1. I also have Directv, but watch it very little since I purchased my Roku. Loads of good stuff to watch, time permitting I usually watch 2 or 3 movies every day.

I am getting so.sick of info -mercials
They have taken over and left things to watch few and far between. This way I can watch a series at my convenience. Love it.

I have been a Roku user for the past 4 months and I absolutely love it! I have found the Roku to be better than any of the cable or satellite companies. A much cheaper alternative.
