We purchased this for our grandson's room. It has proven to be an excellent investment. He stays occupied, and we can watch what we want in the den on the Roku 3.

I WAS CONTEMPLATING FOR ALMOST TWO YEARS HOW TO GET AWAY FROM COMCAST CABLE. I HAD ONLY ONE PREMIUM CHANNEL, AND THE MOVIES WERE REPEATED OVER, AND OVER, AND OVER. PLUS, I DO NOT WATCH REALITY TV, SO MY VIEWING CHOICES WERE REALLY NOT WHAT I WANTED, AND ESPECIALLY SINCE I AM PAYING FOR IT. DURING A VISIT TO CHICAGO, A FRIEND HAD ALREADY PURCHASED ROKU, AND HE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED IT. UPON MY RETURN TO MINNESOTA, I WENT ONLINE TO CHECK THE COMPARISON BETWEEN ROKU, CHROMECAST, AND APPLE TV. SINCE MY ENTIRE OPERATING SYSTEM IS MICROSOFT, IT WAS A NO-BRAINER IN TOSSING OUT APPLE, AND DURING FURTHER COMPARISON WITH ROKU AND CHROMECAST, I DECIDED THAT ROKU WAS FOR ME. I PURCHASED MY ROKU, I RETURNED THE CABLE BOX TO COMCAST, AND I AM VERY HAPPY WITH THE CHOICE THAT I MADE.

Bought this a few months ago because it was the only player i could find that supported hbo go, but once i got it home and saw all of the channel options, I was impressed.... very happy with this purchase.

I've had Roku in my life for over 6 months now and I've frankly lost patience with regular cable and broadcast tv. Smart TVs are sorta okay, but they give you very few channel options compared to Roku. If you want it all, without any hassle get a Roku or two and make your life easy. I have a Roku 1 and a Roku 2 -- the difference being I can plug a headphone into the remote of the 2 if I want to watch a program without sharing the sound. I watch what I want, when I want -- no commercials and I pay for the internet anyway. Bye bye ridiculous cable bill :-)

We have three roku boxes. Love the fact that we can watch what we want without cable. Easy to use and we always take one with us when we travel.
