Delivers on its promises

I've had my Roku for a few months and it performs really well. Channels are easy to add, picture quality is consistent...really no complaints of any kind.

Love this little streamer. It has all the aps I need. I like that I don't have to turn it off and it doesn't over heat. The only problem I have is that I don't like the YouTube version. I had a Vizo CoStar and like that YouTube version better but the CoStar broke down. So I switched to the Roku 1 and am very happy.

Its a great idea, the only issue being that it cuts out randomly. I am not sure why it does this? I also think there should not be something available if you only get short clips of shows.

My son gave this to us for an anniversary gift. It is the best. We watch alot of old shows and even new ones on Hulu Plus and Neflix. We listen to the music we like on Pandora. Thinking of getting one for my mother-in-law.

Software updates will stop your program

The device checks for software updates from time to time and when one is available, it automatically installs it and reboots the device. Never mind you are watching a program or a sporting event at the time. When it decides to update, it takes over and you are forced to set there for two minutes or more while it does its thing. Why can't they put an indicator on the home screen informing you of an available update rather than hijacking the program you are watching?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've had my Roku for almost a year. I got it for a Christmas present after finding out my xbox required an annual subscription. Its really great to play netflix on my TV and the free Ted Talk station is awesome! That might be my favorite part of it. I also just discovered you can download the Roku app on your smartphone which allows you to use the key board to search instead of scrolling back and forth through the letters
