It is ok!

It is nice to have when there is nothing else to watch. I hate the fact of having to restart it each time I use it though and sometimes it goes off when you are watching a show. I also do not like it that if you have purchased a movie or tv series that sometimes it will not let you watch it!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I really Love this Roku Player it simple to use and understand I had a hard time setting up my Ruku Player at first finally got it to work : )

Does exactly what I need it to do

I've had mine since October of 2013, and I love it. I am able to watch subscription services on my TV, and thanks to the abundance of channels I get to watch some things for free. The only complaint I have is that the Roku 1 tends to restart itself while I'm watching a subscription service through it. This has only happened a few times. It's not a big issue; I just unplug it, wait 15 seconds, and replug it up. After that I'm good.

I bought Roku to watch Netflix on an older TV. The install was pretty straight forward and works real well with watching Netflix.

New way to enjoy TV.

I purchased the roku one at the beginning of the summer and I love it. I don't miss cable prices or antenna channels going in and out all the time. I however have a couple of issues with the hulu pluss app. Only when streaming on my roku. It freezes or resets the box, but the pros outweigh the coins. I enjoy most shows I enjoy thru hulu pluss or Netflix. I love the wide selection and the ease of use. By far I would buy a second box for another TV I own. Awesome find.

Best little device to replace my huge cable cost

I started out with one Roku and loved it so much I got one for my bedroom living room study & my coach for on the road. My kids love it and it has replaced cable channeling and they don't miss cable. This device has really helped cut my entertainment bill.
