"House of Cards" every body was talking about this series so I investigated how I could get to see it. Roku was the solution! And we have discovered that Direct TV (which we had for awhile) series "Damages" is available on NetFlix. So now we can watch the first seasons and the last seasons. Plus there are so many choices! Love it, love it and love it!

The Roku channels stream wonderfully and the image is great. The only issue, which is a big one, is that the remote does not work unless you are pointing it directly at the front of the Roku player. The Roku 3 provides more range with its' remote. I downloaded the Roku app on my phone and I can use that from anywhere in the room. Good system but bad remote.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Super easy setup!

This was a gift from my son for my birthday. I put off setting it up for awhile because any electronic technology has it in for me! I didn't have to worry...it set up simply and easily. I don't have cable TV but I am an Amazon Prime member and I also subscribe to Netflix. I can watch both of these on my Roku. I have enjoyed having it and am considering purchasing another one for another room.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Bought the first one last year and liked it so much we got another one for our TV that is not connected to a Direct TV box. Really impressed with the selection of programs and movies to watch. Tried the Comcast prior to second purchase of Roku, but returned and got another Roku. Roku is much easier to operate. Have recommended it to family and friends.

I bought this several months ago to enable access to Netflix and other channels on my TV. It delivered on that and more. I can access several different "networks". Never a connection issue, programs run smoothly.

Just What I Wanted!

We cut the cable earlier this year, but still wanted access to television, so we purchased a Roku 1. We use it mainly to watch Netflix and it was very easy to set up. Thinking about purchasing another for a second TV.
