Great for the price!

I have owned mine for more than 6 months and it is wonderful works like its still new sometimes it will restart itself and the other problem i have is my remote keeps scrolling so i just use the android app but other then that its awesome.
I would recommend this to a friend!

since i purchased in demember 2013 product has got darn right lousy...it keeps rebooting itself...remote needs to work better

Good device but it broke after about 9 months

I bought a Roku primarily to stream Plex and Aereo. I also have an Xbox one that I preferred for Netflix and Amazon prime streaming, but Microsoft has not approved a Plex/Aereo app on the Xbox so I had been using this box to fill in that gap. The Roku filled in nicely until about a month ago when I unplugged the HDMI cable to watch something from my laptop. After plugging the HDMI cable back into the Roku, the HDMI out on the Roku no longer seems to work. I've tried on another TV and no luck. The composite video still works, so the box isn't completely fried, but I don't get HD video anymore so I rarely use it. The warranty is only 90 days, so I'm out of luck there. I was disappointed by the short life of my unit, but it did fit my needs during the time period it worked so I gave it 2 stars. At this point a Plex app looks like it will be released soon for the Xbox one and Aereo lost at the Supreme Court, so I will not be buying another Roku.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Never need cable TV again!

I bought my Roku 1 for Christmas last year and have not regretted it since. I am planning on getting a Roku 3 for the living room, and putting the Roku 1 in the bedroom. It has everything that I could ever ask for and then some for when I want to find something to watch. Best of all, no cable TV contracts, no 200+ cable stations that you pay for but only watch a handful, no price hikes - ever!

I upgraded to the Roku 1 so I could get the Watch ESPN Channel. I enjoy all the channels including Netflix, M-Go and Amazon Prime. The Roku 1 is super easy to setup and use.

Simple to install and set up

Great picture came with stunning ease. I love being able to watch programs without commercials. I cut my satellite bill by cancelling unneeded services, and will be installing a rooftop antenna for local channels, then I will cancel the satellite totally, saving almost $90/month.
