Perfect streaming solution for my old SDTV

I bought a Roku 1 in anticipation of the WWE Network. I already had my living room HDTV hooked up with a competing streaming device. However, I also wanted the ability to fall asleep to the sounds of some classic 'rasslin, on my old SDTV in the bedroom. The Roku 1 was perfect for my needs, because it actually has RCA jacks in addition to the usual HDMI port.
This arrangement has worked out great. I watch wrestling comfortably on my Wi-Fi connection, and I've been enjoying some other Roku "channels" as well. Netflix and Hulu perform wonderfully, and I was pleased to find that the Internet radio selection included some out-of-the-way options, like SHOUTcast. YouTube recently got added to the Roku 1, so that's become an obvious addition to my channel list as well.
The remote feels nice in the hand, and I like the feel of the soft rubber buttons that still offer a satisfying click. My only complaint is the four shortcut buttons that cannot be changed. I only use one of these hard-mapped services (Netflix), so I'm left with three superfluous buttons on this already-streamlined control layout.
All-in-all, the Roku is a great value. My "main" streaming device is slicker in certain areas, but the Roku's channel library beats it out in a number of ways. Highly recommended!

Simple to set up and use. Perfect for Netflix, Pandora, Spotify, Vudu and other entertainment apps. Great price for the value.

Great Platform

I have enjoyed the Roku 1 that I purchased recently. I always have a choice of many items to watch ( movies, documentaries, etc.). Also, I can find something to watch much quicker than sorting thru hundreds of channels on cable or satellite TV.

Dear Roku, When I first connected you to my TV I was alittle sceptable if I could fall in love with another form of TV entertainment . Yes roku you proved me wrong! My cable company I broke up with. Now its just the two of us your the best.

We love it. It's so nice to choose something to watch at a time and day we want. We haven't had any real problems with it. Sometimes there are loading issues but that has with our wifi.

I have owned Roku Streaming Video for two years. I am so happy with it that I own three and would not do without. Goodbye cable! Hello to viewing movies, TV shows/episodes and listening to any desired music. Whenever you choose!

My Roku 1 is everything I could have wanted and more. I purchased it primarily to watch Netflix, and ended up downloading HuluPlus, PBS, and several other streaming services. It works quickly and is extremely easy to use. I carry it from room to room, but I may end up buying a second one since the price is so reasonable.
